'Joe's Law': Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Strategy to Derail Amnesty Enrages the Left

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is facing a campaign to recall him from office. They are collecting signatures, and already have more than half the required amount with two months to go. This follows a re-election campaign last year which saw unprecedented amounts spent on both sides, as George Soros committed $10 million to oust "America's Sheriff". Joe was forced to spend his entire 'war chest' of $8 million to (barely) hold onto office - the closest race of his career.

Why?

Why is the Left in America so focused on a single county's Sheriff, and willing to spend Congressional-level funds to defeat him?

Well for starters, Sheriff Joe is the biggest national symbol in the fight against illegal immigration. He has refused to back down from enforcing the immigration laws most law enforcement officials ignore, even in the face of attacks by race-baiting activists and lawsuits from the Obama Administration. His 'Tent City', pink underwear and cheap eats for inmates are legendary across America.

In addition, Sheriff Joe has taken a strong stand against Federal gun control - further angering the Left. Joe deployed his Posse to defend schools from would-be madmen like the one who targeted the kids in Newtown. He also said he would refuse to enforce any new gun-control laws from Washington - by far the largest county Sheriff to do so.

But perhaps the real reason Sheriff Joe is endlessly (and expensively) targeted is because he aggressively pursues a strategy that hits at the very heart of amnesty proponents. Arpaio systematically conducts workplace raids on companies discovered to have employees who gained employment by using fake or stolen IDs. Those illegal aliens who are arrested in his raids are typically charged with felonies. And any illegals who are convicted of or plea to a felony are put on the fast-track for deportation, or at the very least are barred from ever gaining citizenship or legal status under any version of "immigration reform" legislation. They are even barred from Obama's DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). Understandably, this has enraged the Left.

The worksite raids began in 2008, after Arizona passed an employer-sanctions law meant to impose civil penalties on companies that knowingly hire undocumented workers. The Obama DOJ, La Raza and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce all challenged the law but Arizona prevailed in the U.S. Supreme Court in 2011. But starting in 2008, Sheriff Arpaio and the Maricopa County Attorney decided to use the new law to crack down on workers using false documents and charge them with identity theft. This strategy would ensure that a criminal record would keep illegal aliens from ever obtaining citizenship.

Arpaio has conducted 71 such workplace raids since 2008, arresting many hundreds of illegal alien identity thieves in the process. Workers are often charged with multiple counts of identity theft, typically a Class 4 felony, and offered plea bargains to a lower charge, such as “taking the identity of another,” a Class 6 violation. But even with such a conviction, they are typically guaranteed to be deported, and regardless, can never gain legal status in the U.S. under any current or proposed legislation.

Joe, you give the law abiding hope. This is supposed to be a nation of laws not men, now it is what political group you belong to or what race

In these inverted days, to enforce the law is to be a villain, when it comes to illegal mmigration.

But for gun law technical violations, they employ thousands to data-mine and sift and study their enemies (that’s us) with electron microscopes.

Sheriff Joe would make a good president or VP. Next time Palin decides to run with an Arizona politician, I hope she chooses someone like Joe instead of someone like John McCain. I love the idea of working around the federal refusal to enforce the law - permanently barring these criminals from any path to citizenship. I have no problem with legal immigration, but I despise the idea of favoring criminals over those who (like my ancestors) enter this country legally.

Sheriff Joe is awesome. However, his agenda doesn’t fit the agenda of Soros or other super-wealthy Middle-Eastern types who basically want illegals from especially Mexico coming here, further undermining our society, economy, religious foundations and leading us into slavery. The bottom-line agenda is to enslave the general populace.

If every sheriff did this:

Illegal immigration: Solved.

Unemployment: Solved.

But of course that's not the goal of the left. The goal of the left is to destroy the country.

Yes but how many signatures would they have if the didn’t count the illegals?

Mexican Elite say: EXPORT Poverty Let the American Taxpayer foot the bill !)

EXACTLY! This point is never brought out on our side. People think Mexico is Bangladesh or something. Their role in our illegal immigration crisis is always glossed over. I post this blurb wherever I can. :

Mexico’s economy is the 10th richest nation on Earth, with a state-owned oil and minerals monopoly, state-owned tourist beaches, and boasts the world’s richest man, Carlos Slim Helú. Their unemployment rate in February was 4.85% – near our best rate in the past 20 years. How is Mexico able to do so well? Because they export their poorest citizens to the United States - their outsourced welfare state. And those workers take jobs from Americans and legal immigrants, but also drain our social services – with 57% of illegal alien Mexicans on at least one form of welfare. And not only does Mexico drain our economy by inundating us with its poorest, but its also reaps the benefits from those workers in America. Mexico gets back a staggering $25 billion annually in “remittances” – cash sent back from its illegals who work (and collect welfare) in the U.S.

When looking at the lay of the field and those against enforcing any of the laws ... the criminals always tell us, the enforcers, we win win anyway, enforcing the law will defeat us per the criminals. And with the lay of the field as is, the possibility is not remote, as you and I know. Also, as you know, should the left win .. the left too will be destroyed. These death wishers are ... there are no words to describe them. Thanks Travis. Is wonderful to read your thoughts and once in a while respond to the thoughts you typed or the pictures presented.

Identity theft?

Excerpts from USA Today, Fri 4-12 editorial page 12A:

Identity theft has risen from 1/2 million to 1.8 million On IRS tax returns in the 4 years 09-12 that Obama has been in office.

ONE address in Lansing, Michigan, was used to file 2,137 tax returns in 2010.

ONE single bank account was used to receive 590 direct deposit refunds totaling more than $900,000.

Also- a couple of years ago, the Soc Sec Admin admitted that ONE soc sec number had 273 names attached to it. They claimed they were helpless to do anything about it.

Payments for Earned Income Credits are going to illegals who file USA tax returns. From my experience as a bookkeeper for a company that produced farm products, I can attest to the fact that Illegals work in this country & claim exemptions for ‘family members’ who live in Mexiso-—which is also not legal.

How many of those Earned Income Credit payments are in the same structure?

With the advancement of computers, why cannot the 2,137 tax returns all filed from one address be caught?

Same for all those refunds going into the same bank account!!!

Something’s rotten in our Federal government & the average citizen is tired of being taxed for such shenanigans.

I gave money to JoePac a couple of times. They did produce some ads promoting and defending him, but the following is a postscript from email I got from Sheriff Joe on a request for help from him:

P.S.S. This is a legitimate request for support from my official reelection campaign. Any other solicitation you receive that does not include a “Paid for by Elect Sheriff Joe Arpaio” at the bottom is not connected with me in any way. Please be on the lookout for scams that may come your way. Again, thank you for your support.

The email address for those donations is given as: info@reelectjoearpaio.com

Because they export their poorest citizens to the United States

So, if we were to end welfare and give free (one-way bus) tickets for beautiful downtown Tijuana and Acapulco to the ghettoRATs and gangbangers, wouldn't that help our economy?

After all, turnabout is fair play.

That's right. JoePac produces radio and TV ads, and Re-Elect Arpaio is for direct mail and door-to-door activities. Not sure which will carry the day vs. the recall. I have given to both. The big concern is in a recall election, the RINOs in Maricopa can run another "Republican" against Joe, as they did w Russell Pearce, and perhaps fool just enough folks. Progressive site DailyKos is raising money now for the recall, btw.
