HOUSTON – A filming of a rap music video turned violent early Saturday morning when a group of unidentified suspects opened fire on the production crew in front of a house just south of downtown, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, at about 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a call of a shooting near Nettleton and Reeves streets. When they arrived, they found a man had been shot, and had the victim transported to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police said that a couple of unknown men opened fire of the production crew from across the street in a church parking lot. The rapper who was being featured in the music video was hit an unknown number of times.

The suspects fled on foot and remain at large. The name of the rap artist has not been released yet.

Wonder if Sheila Jackson Lee sent him flowers and has gone to visit him yet.

I think she is trying to re-name a Federal Bldg after this rapper

My favorite Houston rapper shooting is Bushwick Bill getting shot in the eye by his girl. Yes, a one eyed midget rapper.

I’ve heard that one too. Tracy Wormworth is quite a good bassist.

Shooting a video at 2:30 AM??

Union rule: Rap Artists get paid double time if they have to at work at 7:00 AM.

I’ve heard that Houston is now the black crime capital of Texas. Any truth to that? I know the mayor is totally incompetent and the Police Chief isn’t much better.

Also heard that Ray Nagin’s New Orleans crew, who fled from Katrina, are causing a lot of the trouble.

Time to call in the Texas Rangers.
