This was known 20 years ago when I was in the actuarial department of a life insurance company. Homosexuals’ life expectancies are dramatically below average, even when AIDS deaths are factored out.

Interestingly, most of the decreased life expectance for smokers is not due to smoking-specific illness. Smoking is a “marker” for an array of lifestyle choices that, in the aggregate, shorten lifespans.

The arrogance of that statement astonishes me,Oh Perfect One.

I’m a long-time smoker who turned 80 my last birthday.My lifestyle choices would probably bore you to death.

I abhor stereotyping.

Yeah, like working night shifts and overnight shifts, being in the infantry (no sleep), being a "male," etc. Insurance companies probably treat feces-eaters as being more pleasant to work with and less of a claims risk than smokers.
