I think that solution is the one to pursue, because it would not harm legal citizens in the process. I think people are being very naive if they think that more expensive salads are all we’d face if there was a mass deport. You can’t unravel a 60 year phenomenon driven by supply and demand overnight and not severly harm the system. You just can’t.

I mean, I wish you could, but its not possible. As such, there would be tremendous negative consequences to people who are 100% legal and as white as Wonder Bread.

” . I’ve been a contractor in SoCal for over 30 years and I see fewer and fewer Americans working construction. The trades have been taken over by Mexican “contractors” who hire only ILLEGALs. It’s an unfair advantage they have over contractors like me who still pay a fair wage to Americans but it’s one that I can do little about. “

Man, you are in a business that has REALLY been victimized by illegals. The past 10 years, or more, builders hire at least 90% illegals, and hire a bi-lingual foreman. They slap these new homes together with mostly unskilled labor. 10’s of thousands of these homes are crumbling, but the builder just files BK when the lawsuits begin to accumulate. Then the builder/prick just forms a new company, and starts the whole sordid process all over again, leaving American construction workers to go pound sand.

We do a lot of custom and/or high end work, work that ILLEGALs lack the experience and skill to do. On many project my competitors don’t often even bid because they know they lack the work force to get it done. Concrete and block walls are a thing of the past for us because that’s all the unskilled/underpaid ILLEGAL hordes can do.

Glad to hear this.

Mario Rubio is just another phony ‘conservative’ and like most here, I’m fed up with these political con men. There are no conservative Republican politicians with a prayer of obtaining the 2014 GOP presidential candidacy. The Karl Roves will see to that. I’m done with all of them.

I do understand that we have to reform our immigration policies.
Illegal entry is NOT an immigration policy.

The only "reform" needed is either stricter enforcement of existing laws or stricter policies...period

I’m thinking Rubio, like Obama, is the plant.
