Try praying. to God as you understand him. Yell, curse, beg, plead, and repeat as needed. Do the next right thing- no matter what you fear. Prayer without action is dead. Find your faith. may God give you, exactly your heart

I just didn’t want to even think about Sandy Hook because I knew it was being exploited for politics.

I know what you mean. Although I knew about the shooting as quickly as everybody else I kind of ignored that news to the point that until last weeks gun control fiasco I never actually knew what the term "Sandy Hook" meant. In fact I often confused it with the hurricane "Sandy" whenever I did hear the term. That's how out of touch I allowed myself to get on that issue. Just as you said, I also knew it would turn into a political circus, so I blocked it out.

I think if I was with the people I would feel for their pain. But when all I have is the media that lies with every breath, I don’t think I can do it. Or at least it’s a struggle. I think we’re numb. Don’t want to laugh, and have forgotten how to cry.

* * *

You hit that nail on the head. Thank you, butterdezillion. That post deserves a thread of its own.

I was surprised to hear one officer say “your radio sucks” on the police scanner. Never heard a police officer say that on the air before.

That post was purely awesome.

I, though, am not so numb as to give up on what this nation has to offer. Maybe it’s because I lived in other countries for awhile an I know how much I love this one.

Maybe it’s because I am relatively maybe younger...since I’m 43.

Maybe it’s because I look at my great niece and I think, “I want her to know the America I know.”

And we live in Illinois... but in the rural area.

In 2010...we voted for a Republican Senator and Congressman. I feel Kirk is somewhat of a turncoat now... but let me tell you ... when I was a kid ...even THINKING about pulling the lever for a Republican was UNHEARD of.

So... you listen to the media and they tell you that you are powerless... but WHAT DID WE ALL DO A MERE 3 YEARS AGO????

We put conservatives in Congress.

So while your post is excellent. I don’t want to hear it.

Today is my 43rd birthday. I was born on income tax day.

You and yours... you will PULL yourselves up by your bootstraps.

You will do what I do and call your representatives. You will write and send letters to your representatives. You will write letters to the editor of your papers.

We will NOT give up.

And maybe you don’t go to other places on the internet... but there ARE conservative voices out there. The Kermit Gosnell story IS reaching folks and even hard core liberals are disgusted by it.

And if the bombs left you numb today... watch the tapes again. Look at the Americans who were running and who TURNED AROUND and ran to the bomb area, without ANY regard for safety to help their fellow Americans in a situation that had to be absolute carnage.

If THOSE people can turn around and get blood all over themselves to assist people who were blown to bits.

The LEAST you can do is call or write your legislator about an issue dear to you.

The left has tried to do much to make conservatives feel like they are wrong, evil and powerless.

We are not.

We are correct. We are just. We are powerful.

"WHO is this Jester person? I saw that screen name mentioned earlier on FR."

Its the first I've seen of that name so I went and checked him out on twitter. Pretty impressive reporting he has been doing today.

If you do the "twitter" thing, go take a look @th3j35t3r

How do you think that is funny or relevant in any way? Grow the hell up... I know people that were crossing the finish line a few yards away went it happened.

Pathetic that people can’t restrain themselves from the same old tiresome immature crap that quit being funny years ago, it is really getting old that the first 100 posts are always the “comedians” posting the same old shit... get a life!!!

If the media and the politicians would just get out of the way, Americans would pull each other up and take care of each other the way we always do. That is the America I know and love.

How do we just totally bypass the media and politicians and tell them we’re not listening, they’ve lost us, and they need to just get out of our way and let us take care of each other as best we can?

Happy birthday, Julia. You already recognize the gift you have, and that’s even better than getting something new. I hope and pray we can all work together to preserve that gift for all of us and for those who follow after us. We will fight, even when we barely have the strength to lift our heads and when we feel numb. The Lord works His miracles every day, and this country is not beyond His reach.

Instead, the threads are being cluttered with jokes and sarcasm, making FR a hard place to take seriously.

You're right, but since the election, America is often a hard place to take seriously.

I think we are just anticipating what comes next. After the suspect is apprehended, all the MSM speculation about him being a Tea Partier will have to go into the memory hole, which will require approximately 15 seconds. After that time, that speculation will have never happened.

If the suspect is a Muslim, there will be the usual mad MSM spinning, because NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS! and WE MUST STOP THE CONSERVATIVE REDNECKS FROM LYNCHING MUSLIMS! and ISN'T IT REALLY ALL ISRAEL'S FAULT?

This crime is horrible and serious, but the media coverage will turn it into a farce. Freepers are just one step ahead of the media.

He's linked to this "intelligence analysis" graph that I'm trying for the life of me to understand:

Pattern of Life of Mohammad al-Chalabi Who Cheered Boston Bombings

Seems really interesting if I could just figure it out.

Yeah, one of the officers had a radio malfunction and didn’t check in. He was considered missing for awhile until another unit checked in that he was ok.

Re: terrorism.

Just happened to stumble on this (for what it's worth) It comes from an article from Vietnam on the Boston Terror attack:

Terrorist attack

The attack is being treated as a terrorist act because it involved multiple explosive devices, though investigators have not yet found any link to an organized terror group, foreign or domestic, said a White House official who asked for anonymity. Obama did not use the term terrorism in his televised remarks.

Federal law defines terrorism as violence to “intimidate or coerce” either the government or members of the public, according to the FBI website. The site chosen for the explosions, near the finish line of the race, provided maximum opportunity for television exposure.
