President Obama can't see how Congress could buck public opinion to vote against new gun laws, he said in an interview released Tuesday.
“The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown I think is unimaginable,” he told "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie in an interview conducted before Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon.
The Senate is expected to vote on gun legislation later this week, though it's not yet clear whether there will be enough votes for it to pass. Obama has been calling lawmakers to try to convince them to vote in favor of tougher gun laws, The Associated Press reported late Monday.
In the budget released last week, Obama said he offered Republicans a “realistic compromise."
“It does not give Republicans everything they want. Frankly, it doesn't reflect everything that I would like to see,” he said. “What it does is it puts forward some of the ideas that Republicans had suggested around entitlement reform that I think are reasonable policy.”
These checks etc. affect only the good guys.

This isn’t about law and order, good guys or bad.
This is about control. Control over you and us. They use law and children as props but this is about Marxism/Communism. They want it as it gives them money and power.
