TEL AVIV – An al-Qaida-allied group in the Gaza Strip claimed to WND that there have been arrests of jihadists in both Pakistan and Afghanistan as part of the probe into yesterday’s Boston Marathon explosions.
The arrests could not be immediately confirmed.
Members of Gaza’s Jihadiya Salafia group further said that al-Qaida is being credited for the attack in its affiliated online forums.
The Gaza sources told WND the online al-Qaida forum messages claimed the bombings were an al-Qaida response to a U.S. military airstrike that killed a high-profile Taliban leader and four other Taliban members last week near Afghanistan’s eastern border with Pakistan.
Jihadia Salafia represents al-Qaida in Gaza.
It was not immediately clear whether the Internet claims should be taken seriously or simply represented jihadists utilizing the explosions.

In a related note... Senator Feinstein has proposed an amendment rider to the assault weapons legislation. Her amendment would ban high capacity backpacks.

Calling *BS* on this one. No way the attack could have been planned and carried out in a week.
Heck, I bet it takes almost that long to even get here from god-knows-where-istan.
There are eyewitness reports of the area security looking very freaked out and nervous before the bomb blew. They obviously knew something was going to happen. They just could not stop it.
two security persons were extremely close to the first explosion. Almost like oh no at detonation!
Callers to WRKO reported announcement on loud speaker that there was a drill in progress just before the bombs went off.
To be clear, I’m not saying it wasn’t planned and executed from there.
I’m saying it wasn’t revenge for air raids killing some low-life last week.
It may have been revenge for a low life killed 6 months ago, however.
Why do you say that? If the terrorists and bombs are already deployed in the US and just awaiting date/time/location instructions then it is just a matter of driving to boston and dropping small packages in trashcans. A few days.
Maybe it’s a simple task like you say.
“Hey Achmed. I just got the word from old one-eye. He says to go buy a few pounds of gun powder, some nails and shotgun shells, a couple pressure cookers and rig up some sort of detonators. Drive up to Boston this weekend for the marathon, sneak round security, and blast the infidels. Our sheik has just been killed and we need revenge. And make sure they’re co-ordinated blasts.”
Maybe it’s plausible to you, but it’s not to me. I think this takes more time to plan and execute.
If they had all these folks ready to go on a moment’s notice, every time there was a drone attack, they’d be going off once a week.
They should already have bombs made and available. With porous borders I’m sure terrorists are sitting around on the ready. Boston marathon is a known planned event. Could have planned this terrorist attack years in advance. The attack last week may just be an excuse to execute a pre-planned attack.
Then they just have to drive there and place and set them. These are suicide bomber types. It’s not like the world comes to an end if the guys get caught. I think it could have been executed in a few days but also don’t preclude that some or all of this could have been pre-planned for a long time either.
