Howie Carr thread for the second half of April. The discussion of the Boston bombings continues, and I will provide a link below to hear Howie's show (3-7 pm ET)
I heard a caller yesterday on Howie's show saying the friend of their daughter was thought to be OK and her name was Krystal...but this may be the Krystal that has now been identified:
>> Karen Rand survived, but was in surgery for her serious injuries through Monday night. Cheryl Rand Engelhardt, Karen Rand's relative, wrote on Facebook that Krystle's parents at first believed that Karen was their daughter, and that she had survived the attack, because Karen was carrying Krystle's ID. Krystle's family was finally ushered into Karen's hospital room after one of her leg surgeries by hospital staff, only to discover their daughter's friend instead of Krystle. Krystle was then declared missing, and the family found out on Tuesday she was among the dead.

Carr: Death penalty the only justice for bomber
Wednesday, April 17, 2013 By: Howie Carr
Now do you think we need a death penalty here in Massachusetts?
I understand, its too late now to strap whoever committed this atrocity into Old Sparky. You cant pass laws ex post facto, unless theyre tax increases. But whenever the fiend or fiends are finally lugged, you know very well how the case will transpire.
The bomber will turn out to be indigent, like multimillionaire gangster Whitey Bulger. And the bombers public defender will hire psychologists, on our dime of course. They will unanimously claim that the bomber is a good boy, a very good boy.
And when hes finally convicted ... well, it could go any of a number of ways from there.
He could decide he needs a sex-change operation.
Or he could become a Wicca (male witch) and file a lawsuit to get the DOC or BOP to give him a rock, a large rock, to keep in his cell for religious ceremonies.
Eventually Dukakis-era weekend furloughs will be reinstated, and he will get one, which he will use to impregnate a prison groupie, after which he will petition the governor for a pardon and/or commutation on the grounds that its cruel and unusual punishment to separate him from his poor child.
All of the above has happened in the past. What makes you think it wont happen again?
Wouldnt it be easier just to ... put him down, whoever he is, like the rabid dog that he so palpably is?
For the record, the last execution in Massachusetts occurred on May 9, 1947, at the old Charlestown state prison. Phil Bellino and Edward Gerston were small-time thieves who murdered one of their fellow robbers because they were worried he wouldnt stand up.
The death penalty was thrown out by the U.S. Supreme Court, but then states were restored the right to reinstate it in the 1970s. In 1982 the Massachusetts electorate voted 54-35 percent to reinstate the death penalty. The Legislature fine-tuned it, but all for naught the SJC threw it out in 1984.
The closest weve come since then was in 1997, when the House killed a death-penalty bill on a tie 80-80 vote, after a squirrely state rep from Peabody changed his vote. The then-speaker, future felon Tom Finneran, was always opposed to anything other than three hots and a cot for his fellow crooks.
Professional courtesy, I guess.
One things for sure. Old Sparky definitely deters the murderers who are strapped into it from ever killing again. The recidivism rate for executed murderers: zero percent.
Martha Coakley missing in action
Where can AG be?
Friday, April 19, 2013 By: Howie Carr
Anybody here seen my old friend Marsha/ Can you tell me where shes gone?/ She let a lot of hacks go free/ But it seems the voters they get an-gry./ I just looked around and she was gone.
So where is Martha Coakley? After vanishing this week, they might have to put the attorney generals mug shot on a milk carton along with that of Andrea Cabral, the secretary of public safety.
Whenever theres an atrocity such as this weeks marathon bombing, as horrible as it turns out to be for the victims, it gives public officials a chance to dump bad news out at a time when no one will ever see it.
Marsha Coakley, come on down!
In case you missed it, and I have no doubt you did, Marshas minions went down in flames again this week, on Tuesday, the day after. They failed to win a conviction against John OBrien, the ex-hack commissioner of probation. She basically accused him of not only being a hack, but also engaging in open and gross hackerama.
OBrien was put in his six-figure job by ex-House Speaker Felon Finneran. They jogged together. That alone would be enough for me to send OBrien to the jug for the rest of his life. But I live in Norfolk, not Suffolk County.
However, the larger problem for Marsha is, the people seem to have rejected her attempt to criminalize hackerama. They apparently see it not as crime, but as a disease.
The theory is that some people just lack the genes necessary to work hard, and support themselves. Some people are just plain addicted to taking off Bunker Hill and Evacuation days.
If were not going to send potheads to jail for their worthlessness, why should hacks be punished any more severely?
First Marsha went after then-state Rep. Brian Wallace of South Boston. She basically accused the coatholder of using his campaign funds on himself.
The judge who by definition understands hackerama more than somewhat laughed the case out of court. Wallace ended up paying a $35,000 fine.
Next came Tim Cahill, the former treasurer and collector general. He, too, was accused of hackerama. The jury took one look at him the round face, the vacant expression, the vapid banter and deduced that, like Wallace, he had the hack gene. Not guilty!
And now Cahills pal John OBrien beats the rap.
No wonder Marsha Coakley has missed every press conference this week. But then, unlike Dan Conley and Steve Lynch, she doesnt need any face time at the FBI media availabilities. Shes going nowhere.
See you in the funny papers, Marsha.
Carr: USA needs refuge from refugees
Saturday, April 20, 2013 By: Howie Carr
So once again, no good deed goes unpunished.
Uncle Sam lets another bunch of leeching future terrorists into the country who have absolutely no business being here, gives them asylum, making them immediately eligible for welfare, and this is the thanks we get?
They turn into mass murderers.
We bring in thousands of Muslims from a primitive society that has been battling Christians for centuries, and put them into a peaceful Christian society what could possible go wrong?
This is what I was thinking about yesterday, with much of the city under what amounted to martial law. Once more, law-abiding American citizens were paying the price for the insane immigration policies that have so damaged this society in recent years.
You can see the decay everywhere in the emergency rooms, in the courts, in the welfare offices and, yes, in the epidemic of senseless murders. The only difference this time was one of the bloodthirsty fiends was actually a naturalized U.S. citizen.
And then these refugees started killing the generous Americans who supported them for years in their indolence. The young Tsarnaev even got a $2,500 scholarship from the City of Cambridge which is why I never, ever gave a dime to the Cambridge scholarship fund when I lived there.
I know youre not supposed to paint with a broad brush, unless youre a liberal, in which case you are not only permitted, but expected to make Adam Lanza the poster boy for 100 million law-abiding legal gun owners.
But please, before the Kool-Aid drinkers in the Senate try to get amnesty for at least 12 million undocumented Democrats, can somebody please consider how many more of these Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs we really need?
A better question: How many of these jihadist refugees can we as a society survive?
Look at the chaos and the tragedy these Chechens have inflicted on the people of Boston this week. Who asked them to come here? What exactly do they contribute to the culture? They have had everything absolutely everything handed to them.
Obviously, no other country in the world wanted these sharia-crazed Stone Age Muslim terrorists.
The older terrorist, Tamerlan, was described as a very religious Muslim. I guess thats why he was arrested for domestic abuse in 2009, because he was so very religious. And he told a photojournalist that, I dont have a single American friend.
Then he should have gone back to Chechnya.
Yesterday, one of the moonbats on MSNBC was talking about the familys deep roots in Boston. Too bad we dont have a death penalty here. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev might find out just how deep his roots would be 6 feet deep.
Carr: A hit to Deval Patricks welfare state
Wednesday, April 24, 2013 By: Howie Carr
Is Gov. Deval Patrick serious? He doesnt know the motivation of the terrorists?
On Sunday he went on Face the Nation, and host Bob Schieffer asked him if he had any clearer idea of why the two young men did it.
Not yet, Bob, Deval began, more than 48 hours after the shootout. Uh, and its hard, its hard for me and for many to imagine what could motivate, uh, people to, uh, harm, uh, innocent men, women and children, uh, in the way that, uh, these two fellows did.
Two fellows indeed. Hed rather tell a whopper on national TV than acknowledge the grim results of his beloved immigration and welfare policies.
On the other hand, perhaps Deval actually believes the story in the Globe last Saturday, the one that was headlined, Islam might have had secondary role in Boston attacks. This novel theory was attributed to scholars.
Why cant any of these limousine liberals admit the truth?
For instance, did you know Mrs. Tsarnaev has an outstanding criminal warrant against her? The mother defaulted last October on charges of larceny and malicious destruction of property resulting from a June 2012 shoplifting arrest at Lord & Taylor at the Natick Mall.
As George W. Bush would say, she was only shoplifting the dresses Americans dont want to shoplift. All dresses, by the way, not a single hajib or burka $1,624 worth of dresses, $1,016 in damaged stolen items and $328 in damaged items.
I thought she was a devoted mom, a devout Muslim. Doesnt sharia law called for thieves to have a hand chopped off?
In the Natick police report, her occupation is listed as Unemployed.
Yet when her next court appearance loomed, she fled back to her homeland of Kleptostan, er, Dagestan. The warrant for her arrest was issued Oct. 25 When will this nativism, this xenophobia, these hate crimes cease?
Mr. President, do you think the Natick police acted stupidly in arresting this poor unemployed refugee who fled back to her oppressive homeland the moment the posse closed in?
Now we learn Tamerlan Tsarnaev was receiving welfare benefits up until 2012. After all, refugees can go on the dole as soon as they get here.
In their affidavit Monday about the teen terrorist, the FBI said they had found the punks drivers license and other forms of identification. Like, maybe, an EBT or Mass Health card?
Whatever will the Cambridge Peace Commission make of all this?

Carr: We deserve to know what our tax $ paid for
Thursday, April 25, 2013 By: Howie Carr
Its time for all the bureaucrats, paper-shufflers and flak-catchers to come clean on the Tsarnaev clan, those chiseling Chechens who tried to kill us last week.
Open the damn books! If somebody tries to murder you, you have a right to know everything about them, privacy be damned. I want to know everything about them, and I want to know it now, right down to the quality of the weed Dzhokhar was peddling down at UMass Dartmouth.
Were they living in Section 8 housing in Cambridge?
Did they use Obamaphones to detonate the pressure-cooker bombs?
Did lovebirds Katherine and Tamerlan sign up for the WIC program as soon their daughter was born?
Mass Health? SSI? SSDI? Were there any handouts these deadbeats werent grabbing?
Did Tamerlan really become radicalized when the state took away his EBT card and, by the way, why should I even believe that he had to give up his card, because no other layabout has ever had to?
Considering that Massachusetts supported them in their leisure, can you call their bombings state-sponsored terrorism?
Did the Tsarnaevs collect the so-called earned-income tax credit, even though they worked about as often as Santa Claus?
Where did all their cash come from, and dont tell me that Tamerlan owned an old Mercedes save that Vaseline for the Globe. How did he have a Mercedes when he was 25 years old, even though hed never had a job?
Why is most of the state-controlled media trying to turn Dzhokhar into the white Trayvon Martin?
Does DTA stand for Department of Terrorist Assistance?
Did the Tsarnaev brothers mother, Zubeidat, file quarterly estimated income taxes on her shoplifting earnings?
If the Tsarnaevs were so persecuted in Kleptostan that they needed asylum, how come all of them fly back and forth to that Third World hellhole like theyre jumping on the Red Line to Park Street?
Does Gov. Deval Patrick still think these are just a bunch of anecdotes?
If Zubeidat returns to the Great Satan, will she get lugged on that default warrant out of Natick, or does she get a free ride again?
And finally, will the guy whose SUV the terror twins carjacked in Cambridge put another Coexist bumper sticker on his new vehicle?
The hacks are dummying up on us. Theyre circling the wagons, as if they were protecting a Probation officer.
Ill say it again.
Open the damn books!
"OBrien allegedly bribed House Speaker Robert A DeLeo at least 10 times, according to the indictment, in part to help him as he began his successful campaign to become House speaker in 2009. But despite months of speculation that prosecutors would target politicians, the legislators themselves were not charged in the indictment."
Tweet from Howie: “Despite what he says, Deval is already giving out the terrorists’ private state records—but only to moonbat rags like the New York Times!” He says he’s blowing the lid off this story today at 3:08
("How is it Republicans continue to get crushed? Could it be you're so ignorant that the hypothetical of a born again Christian teabagger bomber doesn't seem far fetched for most of us? Thank you Carr's of the world for the help in securing more future Democratic victories. Much like President Obama and Senator Warren. Thanks again." Another: "The hate for immigrants never seems to go out of style.Thank God it was my great-grandad that had to put up with eejit natavists like Howie and not me.")
Carr: Another day in alien nation
Friday, April 26, 2013 By: Howie Carr
Suppose the marathon bombings had been committed by born-again Christian Tea Party members on the dole.
Do you really think that Gov. Deval Patrick would be hanging on to those terrorists welfare files even tighter than he clutches Lt. Gov. Tim Murrays state cellphone logs from the morning of Nov. 3, 2011?
If these were domestic terrorists, I guarantee you Deval would have coughed up everything by now, up to and including whether they were getting on-the-arm brand-name or generic prescription drugs.
Hey Deval, Ive got some news for you. Tamerlan doesnt care if you release his welfare records. Hes got his hands full right about now with the 72 virgins.
Bulletin, governor: Their last name is Tsarnaev, not LaGuer, so why do you care?
Deval said yesterday, I can understand peoples curiosity.
Curious? How about, furious?
Interesting, though, how welfare recipients at least if theyre foreign terrorists have more privacy rights than state workers.
If you go to bostonherald.com, you can find out the salaries (or pensions) of every state worker in Massachusetts. Of course, those people are citizens and taxpayers. The only ones lower than taxpayers on the PC totem pole are gun owners by God, you can print their names, and addresses.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, on the other hand, was an alien mass-murdering deadbeat. Excuse me he was a stay-at-home dad. Thats how the Globe describes him where are we going to get our laughs when the bow-tied bumkissers are gone?
But despite Devals shameless preening for the next Profiles in Courage Award, the reality is that his hacks are releasing the Tsarnaevs public records.
A Bulger bumkisser named Bob Connolly (projected 2013 pay: $184,161.90 a year) issued this statement for UMass Dartmouth, alma mater of Dzhohkar: Student records including academic records cannot under federal law be released without a students consent.
Really? Then how was The New York Times able to report that Junior got Fs in Principles of Modern Chemistry, Intro American Politics, and Chemistry and the Environment and a D and D-plus in two other courses.
Dzhokhars a regular John Kerry. Youd think hed have done better in chem, being a bomber and all. Wonder what he got in drivers ed, given how he used his brother as a speed bump last week.
Maybe for their next trick, the Times will print Obamas academic records. Nah, probably not
But cut Deval some slack. He isnt stonewalling for the terrorists, hes just sheltering in place. And after all, the Tsarnaevs were only taking the welfare Americans cant be bothered taking.
Heres my tabloid headline suggestion: Patrick to Taxpayers: Drop Dead.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, meet the Saint.
Thats an introduction I would love to make up at Devens. Junior is of course in solitary right now at the army base-turned-prison hospital. But if they do eventually move the retired pot dealer into something closer to the general population, it would be proper and fitting that he room with Anthony St. Laurent, 71, the Rhode Island mobster known as the Saint.
Why would the Saint be such a perfect cellmate for the Chechen chiseler?
Because the Saint once informed a federal judge that he couldnt go to trial because he takes 40, 50 enemas a day. After which his new underworld moniker became Public Enema No. 1.
Wouldnt it be great to have them sharing a single cell, with a single toilet? The Eighth Amendment forbids the infliction of cruel and unusual punishment, but this one the Bureau of Prisons could possibly get away with, over no doubt vociferous protests by the ACLU, CAIR, the Department of Terrorist Assistance and all the rest of the usual bleeding-heart suspects.
Im not saying the Saint has a problem, but the last time he was on trial, I was told that they had to handle most of his court appearances via video conferencing from Devens. Why? Because everybody at the prison refused to drive the odiferous, toothless moron down to Providence in the confined quarters of an automobile.
Do I have to draw you a diagram?
Study the photograph of the Saint. It was taken in the lobby of the old courthouse in Post Office Square maybe 15 years ago, just after he had taken the Fifth Amendment in Boston when asked if he were an FBI rat. Look at that coat it compelled me to ask him, Hey Saint, who shot the couch?
He glared back at me. Youre dat guy on PRO, right? I nodded, for indeed at the time I was. You shouldna oughta be sayin dem things about people on the radio.
The Saint had a long-running feud with Robert DeLuca, another Rhode Island plug-ugly who is also a dead ringer for Judge Mark Wolf. DeLuca used to always accuse the Saint of being a rat, but not so much lately, since DeLuca and his new family vanished from Providence one day, following DeLucas induction into the largest of all organized-crime families.
The Witness Protection Program.
The Saint isnt scheduled to be released until 2016, much, much earlier than the accused terrorist who mistook his brother for a speed bump.
The current bit the Saint is working on stems from his final attempt to kill his nemesis DeLuca.
The Saint hatched his plot while incarcerated at Devens, his home away from home. The Saint went to a fellow con soliciting help in recruiting a hit man. The Saints helper immediately went to the feds in hopes of reducing his sentence.
The G-men sent a wired hit man into the Devens visiting room to meet with the Saint.
I want you should hit DeLuca, the Saint said. Shoot him in the head, and then you tell him, Thats from the Saint.
Those instructions have always perplexed me. Wouldnt it be better to have told DeLuca who was going to kill him before, rather than after hes dead?
But you can see how much wisdom the Saint could impart to the Muslim whippersnapper. And let us not forget, both were involved in crime in Bristol County, Junior allegedly selling weed at UMass Dartmouth, the Saint shaking down bookies in Taunton.
One final point: If you want to check out the Saint on the Bureau of Prisons website, the only way to locate him is by misspelling his name. You have to spell it St Laurent, not St. Laurent.
Thats the screwed-up way the feds operate. But Junior wont need the Saint to figure that out. Hell be spending the rest of his life seeing it firsthand for himself.
BAD COMPANY: Anthony The Saint St. Laurent
