Sen. Mike Lee Statement on Release of Immigration Bill

Lee Statement on Release of Immigration Bill

“As of this afternoon, senators have received only a set of talking points promoting the new immigration proposal. Once it has been released, I strongly encourage my colleagues to read the bill and then decide for themselves whether this reform will accomplish what proponents are promising. It is unfortunate that we have so little time to digest and evaluate such an expansive piece of legislation before we hold our initial committee hearing. As senators, it is our duty to read the bill and fully understand the impact it will have on our immigration system before casting votes.”

I’m hoping all this terror activity will get the RINOs motivated to put a hold on the gun control and immigration bills.

If the so-called "conservatives" in the Gang of Eight were really conservative they would INSIST that the legislation be vetted in congress as long and as extensively as should be required to vote on it intelligently.

But because they are party to the democrats' bums rush tactics it seems more likely their 'I'm a conservative like you' come on line is pure BS. Marco Rubio.

Then why aren’t Republicans DEMANDING more time?

Yes, the least they can do is slow it down and put whatever it is through committee and extensive debate. Not ram it through.

The good news is the House will do the job but the president is relying on the senate to rush something through then he can go out there and start campaigning for the House to “get it done!”

It's illegal for Senators to read bills before they pass them.

Holder needs to indict this guy.

He’ll probably get around to it. And when he does, some of us might be joining a free America with real leaders like Senators Lee and Cruz.

They have the right to demand the bill be read from the floor. If they don’t exercise that right, it’s because they don’t want to.

“I’m hoping all this terror activity will get the RINOs motivated to put a hold on the gun control and immigration bills.”

They’ll do just the opposite. They’ll double down and shove it through when none of us are looking and then say, ‘the public is behind us!’

Deportees Can Come Back Under Draft Immigration Bill

It’s not enough for these quislings to let the lawbreakers stay here, they’re going to bring back the ones they’ve deported!

Why indeed. The only things I’ve heard republican leaders demand lately is amnesty.

I’ll bet those millions of foreign nationals who were deported can’t wait for the gringos on Capitol Hill to pass this moronic garbage. A one way ticket back complete with a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Government for deporting them. Mucho dinero amigo! Also on the happy wagon are the two thirds of the morons living here who, when they aren’t daydreaming about homosexuals getting married, they dream about foreign nationals cutting their lawn while they sit on the porch texting and drinking ice tea.

Clues to Whether Amnesty #8 Sets Up Amnesty #9

By Roy Beck, Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 6:07 AM EDT - posted on NumbersUSA

What happens to the few immigration lawbreakers who won’t be offered work permits and legalization by the Gang of Eight’s amnesty bill?

(This op-ed first appeared on Fox News Latino)

The Associated Press and others are reporting that foreign citizens who unlawfully entered or overstayed a visa after Dec. 31, 2011, will not get the Gang’s legalization. Others will also be excluded because of various behaviors past and present.

To be taken as a serious proposal at all, the legislation will need to provide not just promises but guarantees that the excluded unauthorized aliens will no longer reside or work in this country.

To do that — as every immigration agency in every country in the world knows — there must be a vigorous deportation program alongside a removal of all jobs and benefits magnets so as to encourage what Mitt Romney called “self-deportation.”

That’s a problem for most of the Gang of Eight, along with most other supporters of mass legalization, because they have spent years demonizing the very concepts of forced deportation and self-deportation. Will they suddenly be explicit in this bill about their full-fledged support of that kind of enforcement, or will they have written this bill like the previous seven amnesties from 1986 to 2000 that ensured that new illegal populations would build up until there could be a demand for another amnesty?

Another key clue to whether this amnesty will just set up the conditions for the next amnesty will be whether it prohibits Presidents from using “prosecutorial discretion” to order ICE agents to release illegal aliens who do not meet an administration’s particular criteria. If the Senate bill will not stop the Obama administration from its practice of releasing illegal aliens back into the interior, there will be little to prevent illegal aliens who do not meet the Gang of Eight’s cutoff date from remaining in the U.S. illegally and indefinitely and even seeking employment.

It appears the Gang’s proposal will promise to mandate E-Verify for all employers after five years as one way to push a policy of self-deportation. That is at least two or three years longer than needed and it gives the anti-enforcement lobby plenty of time to dismantle the workplace enforcement promises — exactly as it did after the 1986 blanket amnesty. Unless the Gang’s bill provides guarantees that the excluded illegal residents will leave the country, they will have more years to “put down roots” and “become American in all but documentation,” or any other of the bromides that supporters have used to justify this latest amnesty.

Read the fine print of the bill and don’t be surprised if the Gang of Eight and the lobbyists writing amnesty number eight have constructed a perfect setup for amnesty number nine in another decade.

I sent this off today:

Senator Rubio,

All of the talk about the upcoming immigration bill includes talk of “getting this done fast....” Seriously, if you desire this to be equated with Obamacare—impossibly long and passed, without having been read, in the dead of night (literally,) then proceed....

IF all of the safeguards you have publicly pronounced (in statements and on radio shows) are true—all of the protections to keep this from being yet another wave of illegal immigrant amnesty (on top of keeping it from being literal amnesty for 11M illegals—aren’t those 1990s numbers—seriously? I’m not being flippant but you yourself quote the most minimalist totals anyone predicts—and when is a government study to be believed?) IF all true and you care genuinely about these illegal immigrants’ statuses and protecting the country at the border and internally-— then won’t you at least hold up votes to the best of you ability and keep it from being yet another senatorial SHAM vote?

It’s not enough that you’re in the minority party, and it’s BAD enough that you crossed the isle (and I’m sure you’ve heard countless times that Democrats never cross to the right for bipartisanship...) but you’ve enabled, in my view, the ruinous plans of Senator Schumer, the bafoonish plans of Senator McCain (patriot, hero, and welcome-long-overstayed politician, not to mention fellow USNA graduate, albeit 30 years prior to me.) If I’m to assume you have the best intentions and assurances built into this bill you’ve never read-— that none but (surely, not overstating this a bit—) conniving staffers have read and written, THEN PLEASE ASSURE US THAT IT WILL GET THE MAXIMUM TIME FOR PURUSAL, REVIEW, AND DEBATE. Una gota menos y le olvido a ud. No mereceras la pena.

Sincerely,

Coral Springs

PS—then just go ahead and bail out of this and all future senatorial “gangs,” vote NO on cloture and on the bill itself, and truly band together with Senator Cruz et al— enforce existing laws on legal immigration. The senate frustrates We the People to no end.

Please realize that Rubio has always wanted amnesty and the people he hired, like his chief of staff, Cesar Conda is one of two of the biggest amnesty hacks out there, on either side. The other one is Grover Norquist who is also advising Rubio. These lobbyists got him elected under the ruse of the tea party.

He hired his chief of staff and other pro amnesty lobbyists before he was elected and they used the tea party label and conservatives to do it.

Who is Cesar Conda?
