An amusing thing is that in Rudyard Kipling’s adventure novel, ‘Kim’, which on the surface is family friendly, is that the Irish orphan boy Kim was raised to be a spy by a man named Mahboob Ali. Though not stated at all, those Brits familiar with India would certainly assume that Ali was keeping Kim as his “catamite”, a boy sex toy.
In any event, it is a superb novel of espionage (vs. Czarist Russia, in “The Great Game”) and Buddhism.
