DETROIT (AP) — A judge on Wednesday finalized a $700,000 settlement between McDonald's Corp. and members of Michigan's Muslim community over claims a suburban Detroit restaurant falsely advertised its food as prepared according to Islamic law.

If they specifically advertise it, and do not follow through, then I have little sympathy for McDonald’s in this case.

I agree. McDonald’s attempt to pander bit them in the rear. They deserve to be penalized for being stupid.
I’m not even sure the food is prepared to American law. I do not react well to soy, ditto for McD’s hamburgers. I doubt the 100% beef ads.

Apparently money and weapons do not have to be prepared according to Islamic law. Just food.

Yep. Like a restaurant advertising they are Kosher and you find out the kitchen help is making Quesedillas and Carnitas on the same grill they cook the fish.

The McDonald’s that replies to muzzies’ demands by posting a sign, “Our products meet all regulatory requirements for wholesomeness, healthiness, & sanitary preparation. Period!” will experience an avalanche of customers a la Chick Fil-A.
Worth noting: Mickey D’s in U.K. which declared their menu “100% `halal’” have wound up out of business as angry “infidels” took their business elsewhere.
I hear what you’re saying, but come on, $700,000.00 dollars? Seriously?
Anything over $50,000.00 dollars is an outrage, and IMO something much less than that was warranted here.
I will not go to a place that prepares its food just to please one and only one specific group.
I see it coming now. The rest of us won’t be able to buy a Big Mac without showing a picture ID, complete with Body Mass Index and religious belief.

I will not patronize any restaurant that claims halal status. BTW in England many schools take the easy way out if they have a small number of Muzzie students. They buy halal meat and sometimes don’t tell the non-muzz students.
I am sure kickbacks to the halal meat distributor are going on. He gets the profits instead of the conventional meat distributor. Follow the money trail
