My son’s in Belmont. He’s fine. His brother woke him up to tell him to stay indoors. I’m sure he went back to bed.

MBTA has shut down service in all of Metro Boston. Subway, busses, commuter rail.

Since these guys were also guilty of robbing a 7-11 last night...which led to the chase by the police and resulted in the killing of Suspect #1. Why do news commentators keep asking...Why did they stay in the area? Well, since they had to rob a 7-11, obviously they don’t have any money. Probably no car, or enough for a ticket on a commercial vehicle to get out of there. Suspect#2 still at large, armed, and probably no way to leave the area.. Obviously desperate, dangerous, hungry and broke. I hope all store owners are well protected with their own firearms. Suspect #2 might be looking for snacks.

Checking in from Natick (approx 17 miles from Boston Center):

Can’t get to work in Newton. MBTA shut down. Boss called an said heavy firepower locking down 3 suburbs.

So, um... probably not the best time to bring this up but... perhaps we want to hold on that immigration bill for a bit? [smarmy chuckle]

I wonder how many of the fine liberal folks in Boston and the suburbs are wishing they had a handgun or shotgun in their homes this morning.

Boston Lockdown Shows Impotence of Militarized Police
Posted on April 19, 2013 by Robert Farago

No disrespect to the law enforcement officers chasing after terrorist Dzhokar Tsarnaev. They’re doing what cops gotta do. But let’s think about this. A few thousand heavily armed cops are chasing after one guy with a million-plus Bay Staters in lockdown. The bad guy’s image is all over the media. Mass transit? Shut down. Businesses? Closed. Colleges, schools? Empty. Street traffic? Non-existent. And yet Tsarnaev’s nowhere to be found.

When the “authorities” order people to stay inside their homes and shut down a commuter railway, does that sound like martial law? Do they have the authority to order someone not to come outside?

Now I see they’ve got the military (NG) out on the streets. Coming soon to intersections in our neighborhoods.

Now they got a Blackhawk ferrying people in. Men in military uniform using military equipment and trained at military bases, like those who drove the tanks at Waco, are MILITARY against civilians.
