The Army tried using .38 caliber DA revolvers in the Phillipines - and had to go back big Colt .45lc Single Action Army revolvers they Army had pulled from active service
The big .45 Colts knocked the drugged up savages on their butt -
And soon the Colt .45acp 1911 pistol (designed by Browning) appeared and was used by many in the US military until the dinky Berretta 9mm pistols were made the choice by the brass (who never used them)
One .45acp cartridge fired from a Colt 1911 will put a man flat on his butt - It was prized by Germans during WWII and was even manufactured in Norway for German soldiers -
The Lugar 9mm had a reputation
A reputation for not even stopping an Allied soldier after several shots
If you can handle a 9mm - you can handle a Colt .45acp
Many women have Colt 1911 .45acp pistols
