Australian entertainer and artist, Rolf Harris, has been arrested and quizzed by detectives in Britain in connection with an investigation into alleged sex offences. So far, the 83-year-old has not been charged and according to The Sun newspaper vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

After a lifetime of acclaim, Rolf Harris is the showbiz legend now associated with arguably the biggest investigation into sexual abuse allegations in Britain.

Police raided his home last November. Five days later the elderly entertainer was voluntarily interviewed under caution at a South London station.

In a report today, The Sun newspaper says British police arrested Rolf Harris for a second time in late March. It says he has been granted bail until May, pending further inquiries.

The police investigations are part of Operation Yewtree - the investigation prompted by the child sexual abuse allegations against BBC star Jimmy Savile, who died in 2011.

It's alleged Savile abused more than 400 children and women over a 54 year period.

Rolf Harris is the biggest name so far to be linked to Operation Yewtree.

Here, but more so in the UK, public affection for Harris seems only to have grown as the entertainer entered his golden years. To older Australians, he will always be the song man.

(Extract from Rolf Harris song, Tie Me Kangaroo Down)

ROLF HARRIS: (singing) Watch me wallabies feed mate, watch me wallabies feed. They're a dangerous breed, mate, so watch me wallabies feed. Altogether now, tie me kangaroo down sport.

Might it be that there’s a whole cluster of these guys working around BBC? And no one really notices?

****Might it be that there’s a whole cluster of these guys working around BBC?****

Certainly seems to be the case...and also looks as if they waited until the perverts were dead or nearly dead before making any effort to expose them. A massive cover-up of the socialist BBC and its minions.

I listened to that song over and over again when I was a kid on a 45rpm record.

Harris did a version of it with the Australian childrens singing group The Wiggles in more recent times.

I heard on BBC radio earlier today that his arrest is tied
to sex with an underage girl many years ago.

I live in Oz and it was common knowledge that Rolf was fingered by U.K detectives months ago although there was a gag order in press naming him. I can tell you that Rolf Harris is a household name here. I always thought he was a closet weirdo. Ironically, one of his most well known songs is called “Two Little Boys” which was written by an American in the early 1900’s I believe and was a No.1 hit for Harris in 1961.

It was 1969 that Rolf Harris had his hit with Two Little Boys. I had the 45 rpm record.

The thing that occurs to me is that many of these accusations go back 30...40...or more years.I just get an uneasy feeling about it.
