Montana has been a little slow to decriminalize gay sexbut a law banning it was finally wiped from the books after Gov. Steve Bullock signed a bill yesterday. Activists had been fighting the ban for decades; the state Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional 16 years ago, the AP notes, and it hadn't been enforced for years. Bullock's signature prompted cheers. "I am not going to speak too long because, frankly, the longer I talk, the longer this embarrassing and unconstitutional law stays on the books," he said.
Gay rights advocates hoped the move was a step forward. "As more and more LGBT people come out to their friends and their neighbors," said one activist, "it's going to be harder to discriminate against them." The bill passed the state House 64-35 and the Senate 38-11. Both chambers are controlled by the GOP; members of both parties backed the legislation. But not everyone's happy: "This isn't over," says a Republican who opposed the measure. "We will see a continual push for recognition of unions ... for health insurance. All kinds of things will come out of this."
There was a time when all 50 states had anti-sodomy laws on the books. And there was a time when queer sex was not taught to our little children, when gay marriages were not normal, and when queer Marines did not kiss in public. And there also was a time America was a strong healthy nation with a strong economy and a bright future.
But them days are long gone.
Very nervous sheep in Montana!
must be no problems in America today , I mean for the officials to find time to do this must mean they have nothing else to do

It’s so awesome to win the “right” to put your private part into an orifice designed for the elimination of waste.
Step forward, indeed. Let’s celebrate.
Shhh... People will call you a bitter clinger.
I have already been label so I can say I agree and part of me secretly wishes for a giant reset of some kind.
I love how this is a ‘step forward’! No sense of history at all. Sodom and Gomorrah and all that.
More importantly, sodomy is still against the law in God’s book.
They must be the world's most ineffective and slowest activists, then.
More a step forward, then back, then forward again, etc.
I wonder... how did they enforce that law when it was in the books?
That’s exactly right. And actions have consequences.
God has proven he will not bless nations who abandon his word. And the more America moves (runs actually) towards filth and perversions - the more we suffer in our jobs, our economy, our debt and so on.
Nope ... now it’s a hunting limitation ...
Sodomy No Longer a Crime in Montana.
It was self-enforced. That law meant that if you were a queer, you were by legal and medicinal definitions, mentally ill.
It meant that if you were a homo, you were not hired, you were not tolerated, and you kept it in the closet or you paid a heavy price.
Movin’ to Montana sooooon....gonna be a dental floss tycooooon.....movin’ to Montana soooon.....gonna be a mental toss flycoooooon.....
Undercover "sting" operation?
"I got your a@@ now...."
“That which is not prohibited shall be mandatory.”
The classic axiom of the Left will be soon realized in Montana.
AIDS will be a fairly stiff sentence all on its own
It is not “gay” sex it is HOMOSEXUAL SEX... a PERVERSION, a SIN,a CRIME AGAINST NATURE....
Ultimately more destructive than the Marathon bombing.
Move to Montana! Come See Our Mountins!
Yep, all the more reason to let God deal with them...no ACLU lawyers in HIS court.
Jesus is all-powerfull.
I know, but Montana’s law enforcement officers are not Jesus.
Nice twist on the Paul Shanklin classic!
The Obama Administration has been doing it to America since November 2008, might as well make it legal in all 50 states.
