Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the two Chechen brothers identified as the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing, was a self-described “very religious” Muslim boxer who yearned for Chechen independence and who posed for a photo essay entitled “Will Box for Passport.”
He was identified as the suspect who died early Friday morning during a shootout with police in Watertown, Massachusetts — a suburb of Boston. His brother, who is still on the run as of this publishing, is named Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
“I don’t have a single American friend. I don’t understand them,” Tsarnaev told Kirn.
“Tamerlan says he doesn’t drink or smoke anymore: ‘God said no alcohol.’ A Muslim [SIC], he says: ‘There are no values anymore,’ and worries that ‘people can’t control themselves.’”
“Tamerlan says he doesn’t usually take his shirt off so girls don’t get bad ideas,” according to one of Kirn’s captions. “I’m very religious.”
Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a student at Bunker Hill Community College and a Golden Gloves boxer who trained at Wai Kru mixed martial arts gym in Boston and competed in a national Golden Gloves competition. The Wai Kru gym could not be reached for comment.
Prior to his national Golden Gloves competition in Salt Lake City, photographer Johannes Kirn profiled Tsarnaev in a photo essay entitled “Will Box For Passport,” quoting the young boxer as saying that he is a ”very religious” Muslim, which prevents him from drinking, smoking or removing his shirt around women, and that he cares deeply about the independence of Chechnya from Russia.
“Tamerlan says he loves the movie ‘Borat,’ even though some of the jokes are a bit too much,” according to a caption.

Raises the question about a black market for ID fraud within sports or boxing arenas or training outfits.
The more religious Muslims are, the more dangerous they are, rivaled only by Muslims who want to repent.

Their mother is a shoplifter. Hardworking isn’t actually a distinguishing feature of Chechens. In Russia their main occupation apart from theft and terrorism was always making a lot of kids to collect child support from the government.
In fact Chechen uprising has started with a bankruptcy of a Soviet state in 1991. As soon as the government couldn’t provide Chechens with their free stuff they went violent and started to kill off non-Chechens who still had stuff they earned for.
Sigh. My wife is not a liberal in the sense of the word as I use it, but she said this morning “I thought for sure it would be domestic terrorism”
She watches a lot of television. I don’t watch any at all. But I am certain I know where that sentiment came from.
And it fills me with sadness.
I have cut all external broadcast video feed to my house.
It has really helped to keep the world’s views out.
It seems they REALLY want this to NOT be a foreign entity attacking American citizens.
I guess it’s because, if it were, something would be expected to be done about it.
As a “progressive,” apologies aren’t in his DNA. He’ll just move on to the next big lie, as though this one was never exposed.
It’s a sorry thing, but if this incident doesn’t expose him as an ignorant, bigoted fool, it’s uncertain what will.
It's fine with me if the communists reject Christianity as long as they don't violate the laws and rights of Christians. Christians should and must talk back to the wisdom impaired and morally handicapped and sue whenever they violate constitutional freedoms. To maintain equal rights, Christians must stand by one another in activism. Hang them by their own standards...if it is hateful to do to atheists, Muslims or witches, it is hateful to do to Christians. No double standards.
Hating Christians and murdering Christians is as central to the ideology of Marxism as to Islam. The jealously, hatred and fear of God is their common ground. But they are not permitted to persecute Christians like they do in communist and Islamic Nations. They will if christians don’t get legalistic, vengful (dangerous), uppity and united about it, though. Communists and Islamists are basically bullies and they only pick on those who won’t fight back. Christians can not submit to abuse and name it “Christian.” They must stand up for who they are and not deny Who they serve in life to “keep peace” with those who want them dead.
And for that all it takes is the Saudi-funded fundamentalist mosques and Muslim student associations at college campuses across the country.
Is anyone consoling Chris Matthews? Maybe the Tsarnaev brothers will turn out to be members of the Chechnyan Tea Party!
