NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Police here say two men have been detained while officers, including the state's bomb squad, continue to investigate a car with Massachusetts plates on Elmwood Ave.
Supt. Bryan DalPorto of the Niagara Falls, N.Y., police said the two men are not Russian nationals, contrary to an early report, but he wouldn't comment further on the suspects.
A patrolman stopped the car after a passerby contacted police. The two men who were in the car are being detained for questioning, DalPorto said.
Falls and New York State Police have closed off Elmwood Ave. between 18th and 19th streets while the state police bomb squad's robotic device investigates the black Nissan.
“There are items in the car,” Capt. Craig Hanesworth of the New York State Police said. “What they are, we don't know.”
Police didn't evacuate the area behind City Market, but have urged people in the area to stay in their homes.
No one would bomb Niagara Falls. The city is already destroyed - looks like Detroit.

Went to the falls and Fort Niagara in mid Feb for the first time.
Had a couple of guides really give great individual tours cause NO one goes there in mid Feb.
They ALL said unions killed the area.

I visited Fort Niagara a couple of years ago. Must have been quite the hotspot 1812-14, clear view of Fort George across the river.
And turn them loose at the Whirlpool Rapids.
Yes, bags had books in them. Appears to be nothing. It’s within 10 minutes of my house but everything is locked down. I texted Dave McKinley (Media) he is on scene and he says it looks like nothing.
I’m relieved that it’s turned out to be nothing, but now we’re going to hear it from the WNY lib brigade—how now we’re “profiling” and that we’re infringing on rights. Can’t wait to read the Buffalo News editorials on this one! (*GAG*)
Agreed. I am constantly battling them idiots but this 2nd Amendment has woke up many. My rally in Niagara Square had 3200 people in attendance from all sides, even occupy Buffalo was there in support.

It was indeed. That area was the launching point for 2 invasions of Canada. If it wasn't for British General Isaac Brock, the United States might very well include Canada as well.
