LAS VEGAS, April 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mayors Against Illegal Guns announced today that concerned Nevadans will gather with Mayors Against Illegal Guns, ProgressNow Nevada, and veteran and gun owner Johnathan L. Abbinett on Saturday for a "Shame on You" protest against Senator Dean Heller, who voted with the Washington gun lobby and against the 90 percent of Nevadans who support commonsense, life-saving background checks for all gun sales.

This week Senator Heller was among those who voted against bipartisan legislation proposed by Senators Joe Manchin and Pat Toomey that would have closed the loopholes that make it easy for criminals and dangerous people to get guns.

Event details are below.

Las Vegas What: "Shame on You" Protest on Senator Heller's Office Who: Johnathan L. Abbinett, veteran and gun owner Joel Bridgeman, Mayors Against Illegal Guns Nevada Field Director Brian Fadie, Executive Director of ProgressNow Nevada When: Saturday, April 20 at 11 AM Where: Senator Heller's Office, Lloyd D. About Mayors Against Illegal Guns Since its creation in April 2006, Mayors Against Illegal Guns has grown from 15 members to more than 900 mayors from across the country. We have more than 1.5 million grassroots supporters, making us the largest gun violence prevention advocacy organization in the country. The bipartisan coalition, co-chaired by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, has united the nation's mayors around these common goals: protecting communities by holding gun offenders accountable; demanding access to crime gun trace data that is critical to law enforcement efforts to combat gun trafficking; and working with legislators to fix weaknesses and loopholes in the law that make it far too easy for criminals and other dangerous people to get guns. Notice that the media contact, Alex Katz has an official nyc.gov email. So Bloomberg is using city resources for his personal political campaign.

I wonder how many counter protesters will show up to thank Senator Heller.

As many as Bloomberg can pay for. They'll be bussed in.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns

That is a misnomer. These mayors are very much in favor of illegal guns. They are trying to make all legal guns illegal as fast as they can.

And yet again that 90% number pops up. Pretty soon it’ll be 90% of all guns sales are not reported. Kinda like 90% of the guns recovered from mexico came from the US. I’m feelin’ like 90% is a “little high” for NV’dns supporting more restrictions on our rights. I hammered Heller like a 10 penny nail for the past 2 months about this. He voted the way I “preferred” so I did send him a thank you note as well. I also cautioned him that his demokkkrat counterpart hairy screed will no doubt bring it up again. Supposedly that’s already in the works. Snakes in the dead of night. No offense to snakes intended. I wonder if Heller is going to vegas or coming home to Reno. Or neither. Protest in front of a half empty office always does good.

Well stated, Where do these Arsholes get the “90%” figure they come up with every time their face is in front of the camera.

Has anyone been able to track down the actual source of the 90% poll number? I have been searching, and I can’t seem to find the wording of it. It seems unbelievable to me, or a push-poll. Yet it is being cited again and again as established fact.

If this isn’t NYS business, shouldn’t bloomturd get some heat for using State resources? Similarly for Katz, are NY taxpayers funding his salary for policy work in Nevada.

I don't have the source, but I recall the question being something like "Do you approve of some form of gun purchase background checks?"

That's a very different question from "Do you approve of the proposed dramatic expansion of gun purchase background checks to include private party sales?"

The truth dies quickly in the hands of a liberal.

Yes.
It's here

Of course we don't know the question - probably something like, "Do you support background checks before a gun purchase"... who knows.
What's the veracity of a Quinnipiac poll?

Where do these Arsholes get the “90%” figure they come up with every time their face is in front of the camera.

They get it from here...

And they get it W R O N G.

The very wording is a contradiction.

"Universal background checks" are NOT background checks.

What the neo-communists want with "Universal background checks" is a cross-linked database that includes medical records, prescription drug records, Military service records, credit scores, grade school and college records, school "resource officers" records, civil judgments, employee drug testing, etc, etc.

Essentially, any scrap of data that can be tied to you. At that point the benevolent shepherds in our "most transparent" administration will set the sell / no sell bar as they see fit.

That is not "do you have a felony conviction" check.

Current law already does that.

And the 90% figure?

They are referring to the Quinnipiac University poll from Feb, 2013.

It is a twisting of what was actually asked.

Yeah, I know, SHOCKING, right?

February 7, 2013 - Americans Back Women In Combat 3-1, But Less For Draft, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Support For Universal Gun Background Checks Is 92%

http://www.quinnipiac.edu/institutes-centers/polling- institute/nat ional/release-detail/?ReleaseID=1847

Demographics...

http: //www.quinn ipiac.edu/images/polling/us/us02072013_demos.doc

The questions...

Word format
http://www. quinnipiac. edu/images/polling/us/us02072013.doc

PDF format
http://www. quinnipiac.edu/images/polling/us/us02072013.pdf

What is glaringly obvious by its absence is the exact description of what comprises a universal background check because it never did ask that question.

It also does not differentiate between a private sale and a FFL sale when referring to "gun buyers."

Here is the actual question...

38. Do you support or oppose requiring background checks for all gun buyers?

So of course the question is vague in that it only says "background checks."

NOT universal background checks.

But when it comes out of the neo-communists' mouth it has transformed into...

SUPPORT FOR UNIVERSAL GUN BACKGROUND CHECKS IS 92%

Umm, no, that is NOT the question that was asked.

Quinnipiac University Polling Institute... little bammy, assorted neo-communists, you lie.

.

One more thing...

Quinnipiac University

Hamden, Connecticut 06518

Triangulate.

Hold a pro-second rally at the same time but get in the face of the cameras and reporters.

This is astroturfing.

uh, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) also voted against it. Even if it was for procedural purposes, the day before he said he would vote his conscience.

No, really, that’s ok. No bad on your part.

I take every opportunity I find to inform folks of the twisted crap the neo-communists spew.

It appears that the 90% BS will be spewed for quite some time so the more folks see the explanation of what they did, the better the odds that some mouthy communist sympathizer talking head will sound off in front of someone that is ready for them.

And then the spanking will commence...
