Here’s the bad news, which Free Republic should pick up on: He will not receive the death penalty. Massachusetts does not have the death penalty. The reason Timothy McVeigh was tried in federal court and received the death penalty was that 8 of his 168 victims were federal officials. Oklahoma never filed capital (murder) charges against McVeigh, preferring to rely upon the federal death penalty and avoid the cost of a trial.
This perp is a US citizen, and will simply be tried for murder in a Massachusetts state court and sentenced to life in prison. End of story.
Sorry for putting out this bad news, but them’s the facts.

....”He’ll be lawyered up and clammed up within a few hours...if not minutes....”

As I see it....No different really then most criminals with connections can do....and they do.

But there’s a host of things the police can do to get information from him...and simply deny it later...who would know?

The idea is to get the ball rolling on who else was involved..and you can bet they will enlarge this investigation.

Keep in mind, already three other students have been taken in..and this just by association.

Neither of these two were very smart......they’ll talk with little trouble I think. Our guys want the big boys.

no. we interrogate captured terrorists for useful intelligence before we kill them. What’s funny about that?

Not in this ObamaNation.

...”his lawyer was probably with him in back of the ambulance”.....

That’s a stretch....the police can stall off attorneys for various reasons...especially since he is injured pretty badly. He’ll talk....and that’s what is needed.

I will probably get flamed for this but I don’t quite understand why the crowd is cheering?

Seriously? A murderous, terrorist POS was captured and you don't understand why the crowd is cheering?

I answered the question in my earlier post about why he will be treated differently than McVeigh. McVeigh was convicted of capital murder by the feds, sentenced to death by the feds, and executed by the feds because 8 of his victims were federal officials. This perp killed no federal officials, hence no federal crime.
It will be very interesting to see if the feds treat this as an act of war. That’s the only way he will be executed, since otherwise he’ll be tried in a Massachusetts state court and sentenced to life in prison (MA has no state death penalty).

It appears the boat was searched earlier, don’t know about the shed but would guess it was. But later in the day/evening the home/boat owner noticed blood on the ground leading to the boat and blood on the boat cover, and alerted police. The belief is that the guy was hiding nearby and was not in the boat or shed earler, but after they were searched he hid there.

Don’t know what you mean by various shootouts throughout the day. I’m not aware of that.

Shooting did break out when they realized the guy was in the boat. Then the shooting was stopped and they set up a perimeter and proceeded to slowly, methodically, check out the situation. I don’t know the details of the shooting that happened when they discovered him. But any shooting by police at that scene was deliberately stopped after the initial shots. Don’t know whether the terrorist was shooting at any point or not.

Do know the terrorist is not in very good shape, because he was wounded or injured last night when his brother was killed, and has lost quite a bit of blood.

Joe...I wondered what Mass. law was on the death penalty...even so this guy will spill his guts...and I don’t buy what others are saying that he’ll be lawyered up before they can extract information....there are other ways to work this and you can bet they will work it. He’ll talk...

I suspect too, even if he gets life in prison....I doubt he’ll last long...either way he’s pretty much done with life on the outside.

To think that somebody donated blood that’s probably going to be used on this guy.
