TN lawmaker passes resolution to honor himself

A Tennessee legislator is catching heat for passing a resolution to honor himself.

While Tennessee lawmakers have long been criticized for wasting time and money on frivolous bills, some say this one tops them all.

Resolutions are basically congratulatory notes for an achievement, an occasion or a job well-done, and so far this year, lawmakers have passed 476 resolutions - each one typically costing taxpayers about $300.

Sen. Ophelia Ford has passed one to honor her intern, Sens. Matthew and Timothy Hill have honored their late grandmother but Sen. Jon Lundberg just passed a resolution to honor himself.

"I think it's important for us as a state to say, 'Hey, great job on creating jobs and moving the ball forward,'" said Lundberg, R-Bristol.

Lundberg's resolution, written by his own staff, honors his public relations firm, The Corporate Image, and says things like "the owners and employees of The Corporate Image are many such noteworthy persons" and "the company has continued to set the standard for the highest quality professional services."

Tennessee is a fabulous state, but west Tennessee (Memphis)
pretty much destroys the image.
I did not have to read far to know that it would be a Ford twit like Ophelia.

I was born in Memphis, 1944, and it was a fine city even with 40% black, but once they became the majority, it was all over.
Memphis has “gone with the wind”.
I have no plan to ever visit, much less live there.

Reading comprehension, please. :p It said “Sen. Ophelia Ford has passed one to honor her intern”. Sen. Lundberg-R passed one honoring himself.

I do not need reading comprehension to understand the Ford family of Memphis.
My father was a Main Street merchant from the 40s.
He knew all about the corrupt criminal Ford family, as they were famous for check kiting.
They are the equivalent of black Mafia.

I am not into FR posting police.
You take care of your own post and I will take care of mine.
If one has a question, they can always msg. me.

You’re “correcting” others because you were incapable of understanding the article, and you’re berating ME for being the “posting police”?

I attempted to nicely set you right before you embarrassed yourself further, but just go right ahead and continue making a fool of yourself.

I love coming to Tennessee to visit my Mom in Clarksville. It is indeed a beautiful state. Sometimes, though, the politics are bewildering. When I first began listening to Steve Gill on AM 1510, he could talk for three hours about nothing but state politics. I still don’t understand TennCare & how it came about, Muslim influence in Nashville, and why is east Tennessee treated like it shouldn’t even belong to the state?

State legislators do some strange stuff, this is true.
