Let there be no doubt. This failure was preventable and predictable. And it is solely the fault of the federal government. They had a head’s up on this guy 2 years ago and turned a blind eye to his radical connections in his local mosque and online. The FBI is paralyzed by political correctness. They see a young Chechen man with connections to a radical imam and radical websites, who then goes to Russia, and they do nothing to track him or obtain warrants. Wasn’t this all supposed to change after the intelligence screw-ups of 9-11? Oh, that’s right, even George W. Bush ordered intelligence services not to do racial profiling and Obama’s administration has just buried its head further in the sand. In my books, this is criminal negligence.

What I want to know is why there had to be such an effort to get public help to identify these two when the authorities had already questioned Tamerlan two years ago. Are the people who are supposedly protecting us actually this stupid? I know....that’s a stupid question....ugh!
