Some California leaders want low-cost health care for undocumented immigrants

About a million of California's poorest undocumented immigrants would have access to basic low-cost health care under a plan being pushed at the Capitol.

President Barack Obama's federal health care overhaul excludes undocumented immigrants, but some California leaders want to fill that gap by offering a safety net of primary and preventive care that does not consider immigration status.

The county-run program would give undocumented immigrants – and legal residents who can't afford health insurance but don't qualify for Medi-Cal – the ongoing opportunity to see a doctor, get tested and receive treatment before minor health problems become severe.

Funding would come from an estimated $700 million in county savings tied to expansion of the Medi-Cal program.

Hi, other 49 states?

California is not in charge of the border — you are. And you’ve decided that anyone can walk over the border and live in California.

You’ve also decided that California is prohibited by law from deporting anyone.

You’ve also decided that any sick people who walk into the emergency room in California must be treated. For free.

Fine. California’s solution to keeping bankrupt overwhelmed ERs from shutting down, thereby doing incalculable damage to all residents, is to treat sick people who must by law be treated for free in a setting other than the ER.

You make the Federal rules, other 49 states. California has to live by them. It’s pretty arrogant — and ignorant — for you to second-guess how we save our ERs and trauma centers for our residents.

So mind your own business. We’ve got our hands full with the invasion/occupation you won’t do anything about.

Stabilize and return to country of origin for further treatment.

Laws requiring treatment regardless of ability to pay are a big part of the problem here. People who send remittances back to their "home country" can afford their own medical payments.

How much lower cost can you get than free, which is what the illegals get right now. Just go to any local emergency room and see them lined up.

We used to shoot in cases of banditry.

Robbery is the unlawful taking of property through the means of the use of force or fear alone or in a combination of both. “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.” George Washington. Government operates through the use of force and fear of the use of it in combination to control the populace, victims, which is what we have become.

When approached by a visibly armed robber who demands “Your money or your life!” and given the means and opportunity to resist, we do so. Being approached by a robber concealing a hand in a pocket simulating possession of a weapon, again we resist if able. The threat to life and limb alone justifies the resistance offered irregardless of the stated intent of the robber to be satisfied by the surrender of the property demanded. He might well change his mind and the old adage “Dead men tell no tales.” should be among the likely results of the interaction between us.

In my way of thinking an agent of government who approaches me with a demand for funds with his hand wrapped in a law which justifies his use of government force to take my property is no less an armed robber than one who threatens life and limb demanding property of value with a weapon. Both have the desire and the means to forceably take and use the ill gotten gain to use for their own purpose. To be frank I consider thieving politicians to be in the same class as the highwayman. Both are using force and/or fear of its use and both want the taking to use it as they please. A bent form of ‘taxation without representation’?

Am I advocating violent resistance to their banditry? No. Merely pointing out there is no difference between the two individuals commiting the act. One wears a suit with a mighty pen, the other the weapon, or simulation thereof, of his choice. The result is the same.

A point to ponder.

What the **** is “low cost healthcare”?

I would assume low cost means cheaper than what we'll be forced to pay by Law.
But are they saying how the illegals will be forced to pay? Of course not.

The dirty here is that they will not dare say that there is no equal protection needed
under the law, because they are illegal, and therefore are not Americans, therefore
equality is mute and the Gov can do for them anything they want.
It's a skirt around the law to benefit illegal Voters. A payoff like welfare.

I don't believe there are enough voters in CA who are adult enough to vote against
the political correctness, and be called a racist. It's been drilled into their subconscious.

I could have sworn they already get basic health care. That’s why hospitals and clinics were going broke the last decade or so.
