FBI: Boston Suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev Followed 'Radical Islam'

By Andrew Tangel and Ashley Powers April 20, 2013, Deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was identified by a foreign government as a "follower of radical Islam and a strong believer" whose personality had changed drastically in just a year, according to the FBI.

As investigators considered possible motives for Monday's fatal bombings, U.S. authorities acknowledged that an unnamed government had contacted the FBI to say the 26-year-old ethnic Chechen “had changed drastically” since 2010 and was preparing to leave the United States “to join unspecified underground groups,” according to an official statement from the FBI.

U.S. officials have not named the foreign nation, but it is presumed to be Russia. Tsarnaev traveled there in 2012 and stayed for six months.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, came to the U.S. from Russia about a decade ago as ethnic Chechen refugees and were granted asylum, law enforcement sources have said. Tamerlan, who was killed in a gun battle with police early Friday morning Boston time, was a legal permanent U.S. resident. Dzhokhar, who became a citizen Sept. 11, 2012, was captured after a Friday night shootout with police and remains hospitalized in serious condition. He has not yet been charged.

Tamerlane

One should be careful with what they name their children, as they just might try to live as did their namesake.

Is it just me or does it feel like someone slipped away? someone that we really would have liked to talk to.

There IS no ‘radical’ Islam. There is Obeyed Islam and Not Obeyed Yet Islam.

Did anyone read the Yahoo news story about the girl who went for facials to their house. The mother ran a ‘spa’. She saw and heard a lot. Mother was ranting Muslim, daughters were forced into abusive marriages. She stopped going because they scared her. The MSM would have us believe they grew petunias and loved the USA until a wizard put a potion in their hummus and turned them evil. They were what they came from. The enemy we let into our country.

“The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets, the believers our soldiers.”

Base camp ALERT!

To think about ~ just last week THEY (we know who they are even if others don't) announced that they'd demonstrated that schizophrenia is genetic in origin.

Other studies have demonstrated that it usually manifests itself anywhere from 18 years of age to 28 years of age ~ sometimes later, but in that range. A recent study on brain maturation found that it's in roughly that same time frame that an enzyme critical to the brain's physical maintenance shuts off and we go into our adult decline. Without belaboring the science here, it's pretty obvious that it's gotta' have an effect on the onset of schizophrenia.

It's not beyond belief that both these brothers carried the genes for schizophrenia! And bingo, they're right on schedule.

We know that many other mad bombers and mass killers have had the same mental problem ~ or one so similar to schizophrenia they haven't got a different name for it.

Immigration laws should focus on keeping such folks out. Gun laws should focus on finding out who these people are and lock them up ~ currently there's no cure for schizophrenia!

Bomb laws, crockpot laws, pressure cooker laws, knife laws ~ all those laws ~ should focus on the schizos.

Doesn’t his last name also mean something like “of the Kings”?

He looks like Sean Connery. Connery should’ve played him in a movie.

Probably Russian Federation. He had his islamist videos and hate preaching on Russian social network. It is a federal crime in Russia I and they could request FBI to do something.

They (LA Times) get pig’s wings only if they’ll call the brothers TERRORISTS.

Not until then.

If things were so bad for them in Russia that they were granted asylum by the US government, how the heck did Bro#1 feel comfortable going back there for six months?

I read that it was the younger brother that became the naturalized US citizen!

Now I’m confused.
