Teheran 'secretly trains' Chechens to fight in Russia (from 2005)
Daily Telegraph ^ | 27 Nov 2005 | Con Coughlin

Iran is secretly training Chechen rebels in sophisticated terror techniques to enable them to carry out more effective attacks against Russian forces, the Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

Teams of Chechen fighters are being trained at the Revolutionary Guards' Imam Ali training camp, located close to Tajrish Square in Teheran, according to Western intelligence reports.

In addition to receiving training in the latest terror techniques, the Chechen volunteers undergo ideological and political instruction by hardline Iranian mullahs at Qom.

The disclosure that Iran is training Chechen rebels will not go down well in Moscow, which regards itself as a close ally of the Iranian regime. Russia has sided with Iran in the diplomatic stand-off over Teheran's controversial nuclear programme.

Exactly. Chechens=Saudi Arabia (Sunni). Their flag organizations are Muzzie Bros and Al-Qaeda
Iran is Shia. Shia’s flag organization is Hamas.
These groups hates each other more than they hate Jews.
An idea of alliance between Iran and Chechens is ridiculous.
In fact both Iran and Hamas spoke against a Chechen cause at the time. Their position is Chechen problem is a subject or Russian domestic policy.

2nd time I have seen an article claiming an Iranian connection. Am having a hard time with that connection. I know the spider web is tangled and incestuous. Much we do not see nor understand, but can't help thinking what we have here is disinformation.

Admittedly the Brotherhood is trying to bring all these factions together. And maybe, that is the common core here.

I posted this thread as well

about the Saudi connection, just to show that things in the MidEast/Central Asia are much more complicated than just splits along one dimension.

Yes the Wahhabi / Brotherhood connection makes more sense (with my limited knowledge) than the Iranian connection.

Am sure the "powers to be" are filling sources with disinformation to help deflect public opinion.

Half the fun is sorting out the BS. But in the end . . . its pretty simple. If it is Islam, no matter the color, they hate infidels. And there purpose is very plain . . . the elimination of all infidels.

Your wonder why blacks who see Obama’s genocide of them through abortions, and who are more unemployed and living in ghetto’s and squalor, blacks who are killing each other in droves in Obama’s hometown still vote for him?

Same answer. They hate each other but they hate the white man worse.

Muslims hate everyone not Muslim worse than they hate each other.

"Muslims hate everyone not Muslim worse than they hate each other.

fortunately its a tiny bit more complicated than that and certainly arguable.

the sunni's (whabbi sect) hate the shia's. Before his demise Bin Laden declared and threatened to make war with Iran for not being true to the faith. Yes he called for the extinction of Israel and the western world.

Ronald Reagan, George Bush(s) clearly understood this and used it to "artistic" advantage. ex: 7 year war between Iran and Iraq was really shia vs sunni. Bush senior keep Hussien in power to keep Iran in check. Bush junior makes war with Iran to keep them from attacking the mainland. Jr gave them a playground to whack each other off

Not popular and many will disagree, but in its simplest form that was the result.

Indulge me and I will give an example of the hatred involved. In Saudi Arabia they hire expats (western) to fly and work in their airline industry. But you will NEVER see an Iranian flying their planes. (well their is 1 they do/did but it is an exceptional and unusual matter)

Russia goes to bat for Iran every time Iran is about to find
its’ ass is in a sling and Russia, unlike the US, tends to avoid
working against it’s own interests. If Iran is training Chechens
you can bet it is no secret to Russian intel. Looks like disinfo
to me but on the other hand my knowledge is just as super-
ficial as everyone elses.

Most of what you wrote is absolutely true, but let’s see it from the other side:

It is very hard to understand the Russian policy re Iran. Would Russia really want a radical Islamic power armed with nuclear weapons on its southern border?

On the other hand Russia needs the money, and given that this article was written in 2005, one can guess that Russia wanted some counterweight to the American presence in Iraq.

But, whether Iran supports radical Chechens or not - and I think it is very likely they do, or at least did - the Russian policy seems to be very shortsighted. A nuclear Iran will put pressure on Saudi Arabia and the other Sunni countries around the Arbian (Persian) Gulf, and of course Israel will be in a serious dilemma. In the power game betwen Russia and the West this is of course an advantage for Russia, but Russia has enough problems with its southern provinces, without adding the risk of nuclear technology (”dirty bombs” to start with) spreading among the Islamist/nationalists in the various “-stans”. (Same with China who has a growing problem in the Xinjiang (Shinjang) province.)

Hamas is the militant wing of Muslim Brotherhood. Shia's flag org, as you call it, is the global terror group Hezbollah, which aided "Sunni" al Qaeda in the attack on the USS Cole in 2000.

Religious "Shia" or no, Hezbollah is in bed with secular drug gangs like the Zetas.

Al Qaeda, once headed by OBL, a former Saudi citizen who is of Yemeni extraction and affiliated with London-based Saudi opposition groups hostile to the King at the time, is now headed by the Egyptian Zawahiri, who before he met OBL already had his own terror group and who has good relations with the mullocracy of Iran as well as blood ties there. even in OBL's time al Qaeda and Iran both worked closely with the Sudanese al Turabi, a fan of Saddam Hussein. Iran, meanwhile, through Hezbollah and others, has spread its influence across Sunni North Africa, no doubt in part because of its drug trade with Venezuela, etc.

It's never as simple as "Shia hate Sunni."
