How Tamerlan Tsarneav died
The Weekly Standard ^

Posted on 04/21/2013 4:31:21 AM PDT by MarkBsnr

The police chief of the Watertown police department shares amazing new details of the chase for the Boston bombings suspects from Thursday night into Friday evening:

The police chief, Edward Deveau, describes how cops nearly apprehended the older suspect, and were placing handcuffs on him in the middle of the street Thursday night, when the younger suspect came at officers in a carjacked SUV. The cops were able "to dive out of the way," and the younger suspect then continued to drive directly over his brother and dragging him through the street. That's how the older suspect died, according to the police chief.

The younger suspect eventually dumped the SUV and ran into the darkness of the night, according to the police chief. It took nearly 18 hours and massive manhunt to find the younger suspect. He gave himself up after a 20-minute negotiation with the FBI, he said, but not before the suspect fired more rounds at the authorities.

The bombers were armed with "pipe bombs and explosives," some of which appear to have been homemade hand-grenades. They had "at least 6 bombs, if you will," says the chief. They also had a some guns.

The chief also says that "there was a major explosion in the middle of the gun fight" between officers and the suspects, Thursday night, when a pressure cooker bomb, like the ones used in the Boston Marathon bombings, went off in the residential area.

The interview with the police chief took place today on CNN

Curious. The Ny daily news this morning reported that doctors said the older brother had so many wounds in him they couldn’t tell which was the fatal one. I’d assumed bullet wounds when I’d read that.

I think the Saudi they caught earlier is the one who supplied them the financial means to carry out their attacks...

It would be interesting to see some banking records and/or see where the chechens were getting their monies from...

More like the Keystone cops missed the fact that the tarp was cut.

Everyone is praising all the LEO’s but guess what?

The FBI knew about these guys and did nothing.

The bomb investigation went nowhere until the pictures were released and the bombers got tangled up in a convenience store robbery.

They expend hundreds of rounds of ammo in the direction of the perps and kill neither.

They let one drive away after the initial contact.

They conduct a massive dragnet and miss the perp until a homeowner tells them where he is.

All the while we are treated to images of LEO’s clad in stormtrooper black exhibiting horrible muzzle control while they crap themselves everytime a dog barks.

I say we demilitarize the police and stop disarming citizens.

Just might be! These punk brothers are driving around in nice Mercedes and their Kazakhstan college roommate in a very nice BMW. Scammers all.

Chechnya is well known for its bandit culture and its bride kidnapping

Does Obamacare cover his medical bills ?

yes!  The taxpayers are going to be stuck for millions. Medical treatment and paying for him to get the best liberal lawyers. His trial and incarceration will cost millions. If Eric Holder goes for the death penalty (and he will to make Obama look tough) then it will cost millions more as glory-hound anti-death penalty lawyers clamor to defend him

They had "at least 6 bombs, if you will," says the chief. They also had a some guns.

So, older brother is not a US citizen. Younger brother is under age.

How did they get the guns?

Convert wife/ex wife? Druggie pals? Street corner transaction? Other?

I don’t believe that according to that picture from the Morgue of the older brothers body you can see bullets wounds. Our government is as bad as the Russians concerning misinformation.

Great summary. When listed out like that... nope, not impressive.

I would be curious as to what this paramilitary shindig cost the public.

How did they get the guns? Same as every criminal. The black market in guns is very lucrative.

Perhaps he was trying to prevent his brother from being interrogated and of course delivering him to his 72 virgins.
