And when they had the young one surrounded passed out in the boat just what were they shooting at, and why does the media call that an “exchange” of gunfire?

A Mere drop in the bucket when government has 1.6 Billion bullets hoarded away.

And from later official announcements, it wasn’t the bullets that killed him, but being run over by his brother that did it.

There is an old book, “Shooting To Live” by W.E. Fairbairn and E.A. Sykes, (yes the guys that designed THAT knife), written by them when they were heads of the pre-war Hong kong police. They decided that the ‘usual carry for duty’ was what in the .38 Special revolver cylinders, plus two reloads, which counts 18 rounds. The ‘home ammunition allotment’ was that number times 365 days, which counts 6,570 rounds, NOT COUNTING, the rounds stored for range usage, which leveled out at 3,650 rounds, separate from the others. Since we Americans like neat, tidy numberings, a nice, round 10,000 rounds would do!

Here’s a link for a freebie download of the book:

Most on patrol want a minimum of seven 30 round mags... but there NEVER is nor will be anything as “too much ammo”. The finest weapon in the world becomes nothing more than a hi-tech club when it fails to go bang. Personally, too much ammo is when one has maxed out their Visa on ammo purchases.

To followed the intended meaning of the 2nd Amendment, a citizen has the rights to the same weapons/ammo as the government is willing to use against them otherwise the 2nd Amendment is completely meaningless.

If the government is willing to use superior fire power against its own citizens and prevent the citizens from arming themselves to an equal extent then again the 2nd becomes meaningless.

This is what needs to be thrown back at any liberal who uses the Saul Alinsky deceptive debate tactic of mocking us by saying so Americans can have the atomic bomb? Ha, Ha, Ha.

No, even as off the rails as our federal government has become I don’t think for a nano-second they would use a nuke against us but they sure will use a lot of automatic weapons with 100’s of rounds.

A couple thousand per firearm, per year. Depends on what type of shooting I’m doing, how often i can make it to the range, and if i’m practicing for a competition.

Right now, prices are still outside of my budget and reloading components are scarce...

Not a happy camper.

The video feed from the scene of #2s capture shows the police firing uncontrollably with their supervisors yelling in the background to “cease fire, cease fire!”

The shots they fired were of apparently no effect and given that the suspect was in a readily observable small boat in a driveway.....amazingly so.......

The whole scenario makes the left’s gun control argument for “more than “XX” round magazines why would you need them???” look foolish.....

The police, at least in this particular spot looked very unprofessional.

[[And How Many Bullets Do You Need?... It took a dozen or more cops, who are trained professionals, who practice on at least a weekly basis with their firearms, to fire 200 rounds before he finally died. ]]

Excellent aerticle- shoudl forward this to al lthsoe damn republicans that broguht the gun bill to the floor for a vote and tell them “You don’t get to tell us how many bullets we need- we get to decide that for ourselves as it’s an inalienable RIGHT to own firearms for self protection and if erven our trained officers are allowed, AND USE more than 7 rounds per clip and have to fire several hundred bullets at ONLY TWO PEOPLE- then you folksi n washington do NOT get to dictate to we citizens what we will need for self defense

I’ve been to two ranges that kick the local PD out because they shot up the whole place... Trash cans, roof, range building, and all.

Think about that for just a moment. It took a dozen or more cops, who are trained professionals, who practice on at least a weekly basis with their firearms, to fire 200 rounds before he finally died.

OMG, that's the funniest thing I've read all day. Thanks!

Anyone notice there has been no mention of the firearms used by the Boston Bomber.

Otherwise, after the smoke clears, I would like to have a full 30 rd magazine in reserve.

And apparently it took his brother running over him to kill him.

It took a dozen or more cops, who are trained professionals, who practice on at least a weekly basis with their firearms, to fire 200 rounds before he finally died.

Highly trained?

They had a billion dollars worth of Law enforcement in the immediate area, National Guard, FBI, CIA, animal control, NSA, code enforcement, transit police, cops were bussed in on school buses from 30 surrounding cities, helicopters, dogs, swat teams and no doubt military drones circling over head.

BTW, didn't #1 die from being ran over by #2, as #2 then fled and lost the pursuers?

From Jeff Cooper's “Commentaries”, vol. 1, No. 9 (1993):

“Family member Dr. Werner Weissenhofer reports from Vienna. It seems that a felon armed with a .357 revolver robbed a bank. As he left the bank, he was accosted by a policeman whom he murdered with one shot. Great excitement ensued, with the felon taking hostages and racing madly around from one store to another. When the forces of law and order had been mobilized and surrounded the goblin, a policeman volunteered to trade himself to the goblin for two hostages. This offer was accepted, at which time the felon fired at the policeman and seriously wounded him. The forces of law and order opened up with everything they had, which was mostly AUG and Glock fire. Shortly, the goblin killed himself with one round. He had fired three times and achieved three hits. The police, according to their official report, fired 1,261 rounds without drawing blood.”

I read that the elder Tsarnaev was killed after having been tackled by the cops, then the younger drove the SUV at the whole lot of them, running over and killing his brother as he crashed the line.

If true, that means 200 rounds did not even kill the b*stard. It took an SUV.

Some big city cops practice about once a year and 10 rounds.
Look at NY City and when they shot so many round last year and hit others from a close distance.

200 rounds is a lot and it shows how bad they are and if that were military then they would be in for target practice right away
