Many question if those in positions of power during Boston bombing massacre knew more than they admit and put people at risk in order to try to control public opinion.

Richard DesLauriers, FBI agent in charge in Boston seemed to be pleading with the public to do whatever they could to help them catch the terrorists responsible for the attack in Boston. He said: “Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, co-workers or family members of the suspects,” he said. “Though it may be difficult, the nation is counting on those with infOrmation to come forward and provide it to us.

And yet many wonder if those in power really presented all the information in an effort to do everything they could to catch the terrorists. Barak Obama publicly stated “We will find you,” he said. “We will hold you accountable.”

However, despite what is a very common practice in law enforcement of describing the suspects, even more so in dramatic events such as the one which occurred in Boston , law enforcement officers refused to describe the ethnicity of the suspects...

I'm not sure why this is a big deal. With all of the security cameras in the area and probably tens (or even hundreds) of thousands of still photos from the media and from spectators at the Boston Marathon, I suspected from Day 1 that the biggest challenge for law enforcement would be to comb through all of that evidence and identify wich of the dozens of people in the area carrying backpacks or gym bags were the culprits.

That process would take several days at least. Once this was done, they posted the photos and names of the two suspects for public consumption and for help in finding them.

We need to hear a lot more about the Saudi guy who was tackled by the crowd at the scene. Very strange “coincidence”.

re: “And yet many wonder if those in power really presented all the information in an effort to do everything they could to catch the terrorists.”

Yes, and someone else on Freepers asked a great question earlier today - How is it that the FBI did not KNOW who either of these bombers were and asked the public for any information as to who these people were, when they admitted to questioning the older brother back in 2009 (or was it 2011)? Also, the mother of these two terrorists claims the FBI were always telling her that they knew the older one was into Muslim extremism and that he was a threat?

The FBI asked the public to help ID them from the photos released to us, how is it that they couldn’t ID at least the older brother?

Maybe I'm missing something here. Didn't the police and/or FBI post their photos and names on Thursday evening? Wasn't that probably what "smoked them out" and started the whole chain of events that shut down Boston all day on Friday?

Interesting information there, but I think the New York Post effectively shredded their own credibility in their coverage of the Boston story. At the time of that article, they were still posting reports of 12 fatalities from Monday's bomb attacks.

From what I remember reading on Monday, I don't think there are two many Freepers who will ever consider the NY Post a credible media outlet again.

It's worth noting that the older brother was very difficult to identify from the photos that were released, mainly because his face was shaded by the visor of his cap and he seemed to be wearing sunglasses in the photos I saw. The younger brother wore his cap backwards and had no sunglasses.

This is all speculation on my part, but I suspect someone identified the younger brother from the photo and then the FBI went back and "put two and two together" to identify the older brother from their own records.

All of this isn’t much different than this.

“Write The Constitution in bold print on a piece of paper. Now, put it on the floor and stomp on it”.

The cops and the FBI failed in this. Their only success was that they proved they can put fear in people and stomp on their rights.

However, that smoker who found the bomber in his boat, had the cohones to look in there and call the cops. He should have gotten all the praise at Fenway Park from the sheeple crowd. LE sitting there should have been ashamed and embarrassed. Hells bells, Suspect #2, according to police, took care of getting rid of Suspect #1.

Perhaps we can thank smokers for doing even more than paying for children’s healthcare.

Their habit is also a plus in catching terrorists! Next time we could call “shelter in place” for everyone but smokers. We could save a lot of money and wouldn’t need the brownshirts.

They released photos of the real perps at 5:00 PM Thursday. They received names within an hour, but don’t think they knew before then.

I would have thought they would have spotted the perps on video/pics within a very few hours. They knew the exact moments and locations to start looking.

Maybe they had a tactical reason for not releasing what they knew earlier but finally were stumped and asked for help, for real this time. Minutes later the public provided their solution (similar to how they finally captured #2).

I posted a few items on FR back on Tuesday and Wednesday about this. I had come across various links to websites that had posted high-resolution photos of the scene around the finish line just before and after the bombs detonated, and one thing that became obvious to me as I looked through them was that there were literally dozens of people who would fit any objective description of a "person of interest" in the case (younger male wearing a jacket or sweatshirt and carrying with a backpack or gym bag).

Heck -- it was a cool spring day in Boston, and it was the day of the Boston Marathon. You'd have to round up tens of thousands of people if you wanted to talk to everyone who fit that description.

Good points and I appreciate your reservations with regard to the source. But they may well be more credible in some cases than the dubious “reporting” of the MSM which sets a pretty low bar. LOL

It was just very curious that this particual guy happens to be at this location at this time. Maybe he’s just fascinated by footraces and finish lines. /sarc

And then we learn of the sudden Saudi meeting with Obama and plans to “deport” him. Something’s not right. Glenn Beck is supposedly going to report on this tomorrow.

I'm speculating that the younger brother was much easier to identify because he wore his cap backwards and had no sunglasses on, and that within minutes of posting his photo the police were getting calls from people who knew exactly who he was.

Remember -- he appeared in any number of photos from the area of the bombings, so anyone who knew him and recognized him from those photos earlier in the week would likely have assumed he was an innocent bystander just like thousands of other people on the scene. He may have even told his friends and classmates some compelling story about what it was like to be there.

The whole story changed once he was identified as an actual suspect.

I'll believe Glenn Beck when I hear the details of his "story." Personally, I find it very suspicious that a media personality like Beck would throw a statement like that out there on Friday and tell his audience to tune in again next week to get all the details.

If he really knew something, why didn't he just put it out there on Friday? Probably because he wants to get a whole week of attention out of it rather than just one day.

Yes, that sounds very plausible. Sorry, all the “conspiracy” stuff gets to you sometimes. Thank you for some clear thinking.

Beck is a bit of a drama queen, for sure. Its the nature of a lot of TV personalities. However, IMO the story would be more effective if released on Monday for several reasons: (1) news released on a Friday tends to have low impact (politicians are well aware of this phenomena); (2) most of the focus right now is still on the two brotheres; (3) Beck can continue to substantiate the story; and (4) the Saudi might be wisked out of country on Tuesday. A Friday release would also have given the administration time to better manage the situation. But they can’t do that now because they don’t know what Beck has.

It might not amount to much but Beck is putting his credibility on the line big time with this one. We’ll have to see how it plays out and whether or not it “has legs”. If it does, it will be worth the wait.
