The tarp in that photo looks to be torn — ripped by the device that the police used to tear it away. He certainly did not do all that damage to it on entering the boat and it didn’t look like that when the police arrived. That photo had to have been taken the night they captured him as he was exiting the boat.

And additionally, the older brother was denied citizenship because he beat up his wife - so the earlier news reports claimed.
As a result, my husband had no voice. He could not speak for three months until a voice specialist operated and put a substance on the left vocal cord so it would artificially meet with the right vocal cord. That is how he got his voice back.
His neck was in a pristine condition when they went in to clean out the carotid. This bomber's neck was shot up by a bullet even before they went into the neck. It's very possible he cannot talk due to damaging that vital nerve required to speak.

Considering how the body works with a wound, his throat may have swelled up on Saturday. An infection sets in today...
Just speculation - but it might be an intentional misinformation campaign intended to convince any others involved in the plot that they haven’t been compromised... yet.
Apparently one of the victims who lost both legs was not able to talk, but he did give police their first clue by writing on some paper. Wrote bag. Bomber looked right at him.

I don’t believe for a moment that this guy shot himself in the throat. This entire story is looking more and more made up as they go.
Neck wound, leg wound, and almost 24 hours of blood loss and he still climbed off of the boat by himself. The kid is tough. Put the screws to him.
