It is entirely possible that the Saudi was in fact arrested or an arrest attempt was made, but rescinded by higher ups, hence the original confusion early on.

Oh dear, congressmen have the files! Big Sis and SOS Horseface must be “horrified” with the prospect of gutless pansy limp-wristed Repukelicans requesting information they know will never be forthcoming.
This will just be pushed to the DOJ, where they will use the “ongoing investigation” weasel words to deflect any traction for this story.
