The White House said Monday that the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing will not be treated as an enemy combatant, in response to calls from Republican lawmakers to consider that option.

The announcement came as a sealed complaint was filed against suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Fox News has learned that the suspect made an initial appearance in front of a federal magistrate judge at the hospital where he is still being treated. No plea was entered.

Yep. He’s a citizen. While he probably never should have been granted citizenship in the first place, assuming he got it legally, he’s entitled to the due process given a citizen in criminal proceedings. To do less is to head down a very dangerous slippery slope that ends when thugs like Obama and his ilk label US the “terrorists.” And you know the ACLU won’t be there to worry about conservatives’ rights when that happens.

He’s an American citizen.

The Constitution applies to him.

I find it pretty amazing conservatives who believe the Constitution is sacrosanct throw their principles away on this issue...

Whether I like it or not, he is an American citizen, and the Constitution applies to him...

We trend a dangerous path when because what this kid did was so horrific...we want to deny him due process...that argument can and will be used against us...by this administration and their minions..

Yes, and he’s a traitor, a Moslem jihadist and a mass murderer.

He’s been read his Miranda rights and now he’s lawyered up.

So much for “intell.”

He “became a citizen” on September 11th, 2012.

The Times Square Bomber “became a citizen” just before he went to place his bomb.

There should be a legal provision of automatic revocation if it is determined that someone “becomes a citizen” in order to do an act of terrorism and then get all the rights and privileges of a citizen upon being caught.

False pretenses, fraud, misrepresentation of intent, SOMETHING.

Well... I agree "Intell" was lost... but I have a inkling that as sloppy as this terrorist operation was...he left lots of connect the dots type of information... easily acquired via data mining...his worthless life..

Wishing death or dismemberment on your fellow FReepers families is no way to go about making your point.

Makes you look idiotic. And most will associate that idiocy with the points you are trying to make.

Well, “intell” was promised by the authorities.... just saying.

This “enemy combatant” issue seems to have become a vehicle
to advance the political careers of John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Graham has to face the voters next year, so he must look tough on terrorism.

I’m not taking the bait and being sucked into this wedge issue for Graham’s re-election.

Your Libertarian BS makes you look like a real commie from Alabama. In the years I lived in Huntsville, I met no looney tunes like you.

Go to Huntsville and tell them you ran into Bobby Callahan’s friend. You are not too smart.

There is one thing we can all agree on and that is that all of those in this thread who agree with the civil court for the terrorist do so for different reasoning than pResident Obama.

Obama's White House claims it's because of the US Constitution but we all know deep down inside how Obama really feels about that document. We also know how he really feels about our military and how he feels about attaching the word "terrorist" to any Muslim.

While Obama's decision may be how some Republicans and/or some conservatives may have desired, the reasoning is not necessarily the same.

Obama HATES America and is pro-Islam and that's the ONLY reason for his decision.

Sadly, Alabama is filled with LIBERALS just like yourself, who think it's just fine n' dandy to suspend the Constitution whenever convienient...based on their personal feeeeeeeeeeeelings. And most of them think voting for the R exempts them from this classification. It does not.

Liberals base all their idiocy in feeeeeeelings. So, because of your feeeeelings...we should disregard that this Chechnyan Muslim creep (however disgusting it may be to us) was a U.S. citizen. Either it protects him, or it protects none of us. You can argue that he obtained citizenship under false pretenses, and should have it stripped, and I would agree with you there.

I hope Bobby Callahan knows what a sorry friend he has...wishing death and mutiliation on people who disagree with him. More hopefully, I hope you don't really feel that way and are just one of those people who types before he thinks.

To recap your original post:

I hope a Muslim terrorist kills or maims a loved one of yours.

You stay classy, now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Obama recieve a call...”Just hours after the Boston Marathon bombings, Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the act as a “disgusting” crime and offered to help in any way he could.”
I thought this conversation included confirmation by Putin that the suspects were indeed tied to terrorist groups.

Putin Wins, Obama Loses in Boston Jihad - Forbes

“The Chechen origin of the Boston bombers gives Putin a freer hand to deal ... Three officials on the list were charged with atrocities in Chechnya.”

Would this not influence citizenship, making it mandatory to reverse the issuance of said citizenship?

My wife and I ran into a libertarian like you last week. The clown thought it was great to slay trout and bass on beds during spawning, and; he stated-”I should not have to answer to any laws.” We are a nation of laws. Only those we needed were provided/. Now, go play with your smoke your dope pals.

No, you ran into an idiot that you chose to label with whatever fits with your broad brush of the day.

Your feeeeeeelings are showing again. Did you tell him that you wished him killed or maimed by a Muslim too?
