Marco Rubio’s leftist talking points on immigration and slavery
The Examiner ^ | 042213 | Conn Carroll

Yesterday, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., spokesman Alex Conant caused a bit of a stir when he argued against granting permanent legal residence to illegal immigrants by claiming, “We haven’t had a cohort of people living permanently in US without full rights of citizenship since slavery.”

Leaving the merits of this argument aside for a second, it is important to recognize that this is a very common argument on the left. For example:

Conservatives are often elected to Congress but there are no conservatives IN Congress.

We have very few allies on the immigration issue. Once these fools get into office, the prevailing “go along to get along” mindset supersedes any relationship to the constituency that sent them there in the first place.

While the demise of America is underway, giving amnesty to the 20 million illegals in this country will hurry the process along rather quickly.

Simple solution then, dont pass any amnesty bill.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt escaping slaves travel North BEFORE the civil war?
Blacks were not lining up to make it to the South to be put in chains to get free stuff like illegals are doing to get here.

Point made.
Africans did not book passage on ships to come to the colonies and become slaves. They were granted citizen status specifically because they were forced here against their will.

The push is so the illegals can be registered to vote well in advance of the 2014 election. That many illegals voting in places like Arizona will make a BIG difference!

Methinks Rubio has just had his “Fonzie” moment....as in “jumping the shark”. NOBODY who is capable of making such a statement can expect to be taken seriously. Totally ludicrous.

Rubio and the rest of those on the amnesty bandwagon can kiss my ass. This used to be a country that believed some one shouldn’t be rewarded for committing a criminal act. I guess now that if there are potential votes invloved it no longer matters.

It is time for Rush and especially Mark Levin to stop smooching on Rubio’s butt and start speaking out frankly about what has happened to this guy. I know they are disappointed, so am I but he is gone.

I’m an American citizen, Vietnam Vet, etc. I want to know what laws I can break that not only will I not be punished for breaking, but will be rewarded for breaking, as well.

I’m certainly not surprised. I’ve never trusted Rubio. I don’t trust Cruz for that matter.

Had not heard that. I did read that northern Africans, Muslims, terrorized southern tribes and sold them into slavery. This practice continues today.

““We haven’t had a cohort of people living permanently in US without full rights of citizenship since slavery.” “

People like Rubio and his hired henchmen Conant, Conda, Norquist are liars, race baiters and don’t even know our history, much less the meaning of ILLEGAL ALIEN!

Slaves got citizenship with the 14 amendment and the right to vote in 1870.

Women didn’t get the vote until 1920.

Native Americans didn’t get it 1925.

AND THEY WERE ALL LEGAL!!!

P.S. The Rubio/gang of eight are using SPLC talking points.
BTW, the SPLC has listed FR as a HATE group!

Southern Poverty Law Center Finds Fewer Militias, Hypes Militia Threat Anyway (FR mentioned)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3006724/posts

[snip]At the heart of the attack is the accusation that the leading members of some groups critical of immigration policy were or still are environmentalists and liberals. This attack piggybacks on earlier work by the Southern Poverty Law Center that used some of the same information to accuse those groups of being tied to Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist groups. There’s something rather strange when “conservative sites” not only begin advocating for illegal alien amnesty, but begin repeating the claims that the Center for American Progress, Mother Jones and the Southern Poverty Law Center were making about anti-immigration groups 5-10 years ago. The same Norquist tactics being used to attack the anti-immigration movement can and will be used to attack the Counterjihadist camp. http://towncriernews.blogspot.com/search?q=Splc
