BOSTON MASSACRE 2013. Did the brothers Tsarnaev fail?
World Net Daily ^ | 4/22/2013 | Patrick J. Buchanan

Posted on 04/23/2013 6:57:41 AM PDT by IbJensen

Pat Buchanan wonders if bombers are now inspirations for other 'sick souls within'

“Whatever they thought they could ultimately achieve, they’ve already failed,” says President Obama of the Boston Marathon bombers.

“They failed because the people of Boston refused to be intimidated. They failed because as Americans we refuse to be terrorized.”

Bostonians did react splendidly. From first responders to folks who gave blood, from hospital staffs to the FBI, ATF and state troopers, from the Boston and Watertown cops to the hostage rescue team that talked Dzhokhar Tsarnaev out of that boat.

But did the Brothers Tsarnaev really fail – as terrorists?

On Sunday’s talk shows, a sub-theme was that this had been the “most successful terrorist attack since 9/11.”

For consider what these brothers accomplished.

By brazenly exploding two bombs right at the finish line of the marathon, with TV cameras all around, they killed three and injured, wounded and maimed 178 people for all the world to see.

Within hours, their atrocity had riveted the attention of the nation. Cable channels went wall to wall, as did major networks. By the evening of the attack, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and President Obama had gone live to reassure us they would be apprehended and justice done.

Day two, Obama appeared again as the greatest manhunt in U.S. history was under way. On day four, the FBI released photos, imploring citizens to come forward and identify the men in the white and black caps.

That evening, the brothers murdered an MIT police officer, hijacked a Mercedes SUV and engaged in a gunfight with Watertown police that left Tamerlan Tsarnaev dead and his brother a fugitive.

On Friday morning, Gov. Patrick went before the cameras to tell a stunned nation he was imposing a lockdown on all of Boston...

Muslims are the only people who could plan such a horrible pressure cooker massacre. Unfortunately we're allowing a new muslim nation to grow under cover of the shadow of political correctness.

Saddan Hussien was no direct threat to the United States. Americans should recall the Beslan massacre in South Russia where the Chechens shot 165 Christian children in cold blood. Some of the poor children were begging for mercy and the sadists shot them anyway. Only muslims could do that and they're here by the millions waiting for the inspiration of allah to pack those pressure cookers.

America was asleep as usual as we flip through massacres on our smart phones, unaware that the pain is only real to the victims.

What would Buchanan name as a victory?

Our civil rights will again take a hit
Early estimates of economic hit to Boston $330 million
Public confidence in law enforcement takes another hit

And if we won't deal harshly now with what we kinow is a real threat, then we'll be forced to accept the even harsher 'treatment' (police house-to-house searches) at another time.

If some of the reports are correct, these two bombers should have been at least deported a year or two ago ... but ,, NO- o o o o (in my best John Balushi)

Nothing says “fail to be intimidated” like a million citizens submitting to curfew an entire day.....

Calling this bombing ‘The Boston Massacre’ is gross hyperbole.

Sadly, that is not true. Evil has many faces in our world.

Another trade of freedom for “safety”

Just think how much better things in this country would have been if instead of creating a DHHS and making a war with Iraq, we instead just made it a policy for those from Islamic backgrounds very very difficult to immigrate into this country.

...to the runner whose son was killed, whose daughter was maimed, and whose wife is brain damaged, the term ‘gross hyperbole’ probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when he looks back on it...

...I’m sure you and he could engage in some interesting dialogue on the subject...

Why would the FBI have to ask the public for help identifying two moslum terrorist they knew all about? I find it hard to believe they didn't know exactly who the bombers were. They were warned about them and investigated them.

...sad and shocking isn’t it. The sheep stayed home, all the while bragging about “Boston Strong.” Hmmm.

This kind of ridiculous response is typical of the week kneed emotionalism that pervades this whole terrorist event. It was a bombing, and to those directly affected it was the worst thisng in the world, but the rest of us ought to be able to use a little perspective.

“They failed because the people of Boston refused to be intimidated. They failed because as Americans we refuse to be terrorized.”

The inspiring worfds of our great leader...NOT! This line is a complete lie. They didn't fail. They got caught but they didn't fail. They showed the whole world how very, very easy it is to completly disrupt a major American city and how wiilingly the American people can be 'locked down' completely controlled! Failure my ass.

I couldn't believe the search for one 19-yr old could shut down the entire city of Boston for an entire friggin' day! I'm quite sure this provoked huge laughter in the middle East at us - with good reason.

Just imagine if Dave Henneberry had not gone out for a smoke. How long might this search have continued in some extended form of curfew? The liberal PC run amok which includes not only the rules of engagement for law enforcement, but the freedoms of its citizens!

Intimidated?! It reminds me of how scared of our shadows we are today - it's school principals shutting down schools because of a few flakes in the air --- writ large. Disgusting. Our founders would be aghast.

Very poorly worded by me. i don't mean to imply that you're being ridiculous. Perhaps I'm just too touchy on the subject...

my friends, friends on FB and co workers were all blabbing about what a great response Boston put on but all I could think of was how weak and ridiculous we must look to our enemies. I felt we were a laughing stock. Still do.
