You know, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears these people have learned the wrong lesson.

I know I don't have a complete picture of the mood in every town in America, but I live in central Indiana (Indianapolis) and I grew up in rural Indiana. In rural Indiana, there are LOTS of traditional Democrats... not the completely loony types we see in kids nowadays (I would call them truly moderates) They do a lot of clinging to both guns and religeon. Along with the more strictly conservative types who vote Republican, I don't think I have personally met a single person who doesn't get fuming mad at the mere mention of gun control or gun restrictions.

And then, I think back at what happened in politics following the Clintoon gun bans and I remember a Republican sweep in congress.
It seems all to obvious to me that the REAL reality to come is one where both Democrats and Republicans alike will remember full well who voted to take away another slice of their rights and will punish them accordingly. It seems that the not only the media, but leftist politicians and activists have a delusional vision of what is really going on around them.

“It seems that the not only the media, but leftist politicians and activists have a delusional vision of what is really going on around them.”

They certainly did in 1994. They believed their own political sciences that said it was impossible for the Republicans ever to control the House of Representatives. The MSM had a bit of integrity back then, or maybe they were so overconfident that they allowed more truth to leak out.

In any case, they were completely blown away by the results of the 1994 election, where the Republicans took the House and the Senate. The Republicans got some reforms in under Newt before the MSM doubled down and decided to trade crediblility for political power. The problem for them, is that this is not sustainable. Still it not sustainable, because the MSM is losing market share and influence. It amazed me that they were able to elect President Obama and to reelect them, but they have converted to an open propaganda arm of the administration to do it.

I think, and hope, that they have gone too far with attempting to weaken the Second Amendment. We may well see another 1994 election in 2014, if we do our part.
