Bob Davis of KTCN is being offered a free trip to Newtown, Conn., to repeat what he said on the air about the victims families.

I do not think that anyone will condone this man's unwise statement about the Newtown victims' families, but you must understand that there would be many more tragedies that would follow upon the loss of the abilities of the people who could not defend themselves from a tyrannical government. The man does have a point, he just didn't state it well.
“...Im sure theres nothing impeding you from doing just that...”
Lack of a microphone. We’ve already lost way too many freedoms due to parents try to avenge the deaths of their kids...often (though not here) because of stupid things their kids did.
I don’t like making policy that way...but I guess others don’t mind.
You just don’t tell parents of dead children to go to hell. Basic humanity 101.
Deal with it, and dont force me to lose my liberty, which is a greater tragedy than your loss.”
I have to agree with him.
...you agree that if he has to go through the tragedy of a background check when he purchases a firearm, said tragedy supercedes the tragedy of these parents losing their children...that’s what you’re saying...?
Is it me noticing or are more and more ‘Conservatives’ putting ‘FEELINGS” over “FREEDOM” lately?
It it time for more ‘impolite’ speech when these bastards conspire to do what they do. I have lost family. Most have and many in bad circumstances.
IT DOES NOT GIVE A-N-Y VICTIMS SUPERCONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS or shield them from the harsh language of truth when they pull this crap.
Losing a child doesn’t give one moral and legal superiority. Aligning yourself with gun grabbing sleaze bags does not engender sympathy.
If these parents continue with their “advocacy” the goodwill towards them will evaporate.
I really think blowhards who say things like this behind a microphone or the internet are candy assed cowards. Go up to one of the fathers or older brothers and say that to their face. He’d be seeing an orthopedic surgeon in a hot second.
The “go to Hell” remark should also have been directed to those politicians using the families to further their agenda.
He didn't. He said what he would say if the parents were to be used to try to intimidate him.
They are being used as pawns and are doing the country no good. We are all sorry for their horrific lose. Those seeking a public forum must realize that many don’t agree with them and they should be prepared for a backlash.

You Brits are TOTALLY CLUELESS on our Constitution and why we have a Second Amendment.
Why are you even here. You’ll find other websites MUCH MORE accommodating to your Government-Knows-Best viewpoint.

We don’t need YOUR CRAP in this country - we fought a war to get away from this deranged thinking.
His statement is well thought out and I agree 100% except “Go to hell” wasn’t necessary. A liberal talk host would’ve easily gotten away with “Go to hell” if referenced to any conservative man, woman or child and actually do on a regular basis.
The man does have a point, he just didn’t state it well.
...of course we’re all aware of that, nobody disputes that...however, unwise, stupid statements will trump valid points every time, and the loss of further discussion arising from the stupidity leads to further mistrust and misinformation...not ‘stating something well’ when you have the ability to do otherwise is criminal in its own way...
Right on, right on!
Once they enter the political arena and start exploiting their tragedies to attack my rights, then they forfit every iota of sympathy. No one forced them to attack our right to keep and bear arms. They sold their children's deaths for a ride in air force one and a vacation to DC to stand behind the turd in the white house. I agree they can go to hell. And I'd gladly tell them exactly that face to face.
He’s absolutely right....they are being used for political expediency but this is a no win situation.
I cannot BEGIN to tell you how sick and frustrated I am with supposed conservatives on FR acting and using the same talking points/language as liberals on all kinds of subjects.
I’m about to just call myself an independent because conservative is rapidly following Republican into liberalism.
What he said was very upsetting to people. Personally, I am livid about the Democrats using these people to try to intimidate Senators into voting for gun control. In addition, Obama is now going to sign an executive order banning the import of arms and ammunition. The parents of the kids are another instance of the Democrats exploiting the victims. And, when the statement is analyzed, he did not tell the parents to go to hell.
