At Stanford, Al Gore connects climate change inaction to political dysfunction

Our democracy has been hacked. The operating system has been taken over." That was the message former Vice President Al Gore brought to Stanford Tuesday night.

The 65-year-old paced the stage as he rattled off a litany of dark news from climate change-related superstorms and droughts to the U.S. Senate's failure to pass meaningful gun safety legislation. He offered blunt assessments of the Iraq War, saying it was about "a country that just happens to have a lot of oil." He spoke of the interest in energy-intensive Canadian tar sands oil extraction, the driving force behind plans for the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline. "Junkies find veins in their toes when the ones in their arms and legs give out," Gore said of tar sands oil.

"In order to solve the democratic crisis, you need to become passionately involved in democracy," Gore said. He encouraged audience members to let their elected representatives know about their climate change concerns, and to work hard to re-elect those who vote for meaningful change and help defeat those who don't.

Carbon Credits are the "Nigerian banking scam emails" of the Man Made Global Warming fraud.

Two can play at this computer analogy, Mr. Crazed Sex Poodle.

Climate change, its not just for breakfast any more!

How can any one take Al Gore seriously? Really, the guy has to be pulling our legs... This can't be real.

Man-made Climate Change is terrible! Has anyone else noticed that the Tooth Fairy has been a casualty? At first I attributed that to the Sequester Demon, but am now convinced that the Tooth Fairy has been killed, or at least disabled, by Climate Change.

What, oh what, shall we -- can we do? Only President Obama and St. Al the Gored know. They must tell us.

Certainly no one at Stanford paid to hear this cretin bloviate. If they did, they are stupid and unworthy of a dime of support from real Americans.

"Our democracy has been hacked. The operating system has been taken over."

Being a robot, Gore would know about O/S. I think Gore is powered by Ubuntu 1.1 "Mooing Manpig".

... dark news from climate change-related superstorms...

In related but unreported news, it has now been 2739 days (7.5 years) since the last major (Category 3 or greater) hurricane has made landfall in the continental United States. This shatters the previous calm spell record of 2231 days (6.1 years) set 19 Oct 1906.

Of course, this record calm spell is due to Global Warming.

That’s odd. With Algore there, you would expect Stanford to be covered in several feet of snow. Algore is kind of like a modern Jack Frost that way.
