Worse than stupid, it's economic treason.
It used to be that,when people came to America, they came to actually better America itself. All the while providing themselves with a better life. I don’t see that any longer.
Freeze immigration for five years and weed out the ricks or face more chaos.
The progressive have more than socialism on their minds.
I’m amazed we could even discuss having a discussion about immigration until our borders are air tight. It’s lunacy.
Try. “Refugee” immigration needs to scaled waaaaaay back. No reason we should be admitting Moslems, esp. from Iraq, Pakistan, Trashcanistan, the Middle East, Somalia or Africa in general.
On the other hand, Christians from Moslem dominated countries, and whites from Zimbabwe or South Africa should get the Express Lane.

When Ann is right, she’s very right. The federal government could conceivably open the doors wide. There might even be a billion people who’d move here if they had the chance. So it’s not enough to say illegal aliens are bad and legal immigrants are good. Even legal immigration needs to be handled wisely so that American interests are served first and foremost. We should be very picky about who and how many we let in, but we’re not.
Preferring “professionals” with money won’t make them any more likely to be pro-American than ditch diggers. Might get more “professional” spies and more capable terrorists, though. Resuming preference for those who come from our better allies to marry Americans will get more good Americans.
There will be no fiscal conservatism or safety for big shots without moral conservatism.
Yeah, when I saw the headline, I was thinking, “Uh-oh,” but her column here is right on the mark.
With all of the concern over illegal immigration, I think most of us turn a blind eye to legal immigration, and she argues very effectively that both are complicit in America’s decline, and need complete overhauls.
I can’t believe anyone who has a national audience is finally talking publicly about the problem with LEGAL immigration. Usually you only hear a parroting of “I’m all for legal immigration, but we have to do something about illegal immigration” without any qualifier as to the number and type of legal immigrants we want and the horrible effects on our country of the types of legal immigrants we’ve imported in massive numbers.

I don't want ANYBODY sneaking into this country. How many Dr. Kevorkians are here right now happily awaiting to implement Obamacare with whatever perverse incentives come down the road with it? They pose a much greater potential threat than the ditch digger.
