I understand your point, because I said "I will admit to mixed emotions about the educational training, some people do need it".

But infringement is infringement on the 2nd amendment.

Hope you understand where I'm coming from.

It is a gray area for me and I don't like gray areas.
If push came to shove, I'd probably come down on the side of an education requirement, but I don't like coming down on that side, but see the need.

By saying that, I'm force to say I favor an infringement, that's my conflict.

As far as a fee for my second amendment rights, that's pure BS.

This is using the incrementalism of the left to eventually restore rights that were lost. $500 could be challenged as an infringement.

Adopt the bill. Next year propose an amendment that would lower the fee to $400. The year after that . . .

We did not get burdened by all these gun laws in one fell swoop. Learn from our enemies. As you say, small steps, small steps.

It is Uncle Murphy to me. I used to see him a lot, but finally got him to leave me alone for a while, but I don’t want to send him my address. :)

I am always amazed to hear about someone with a CC permit, but they don’t carry. I’ve always wondered how you know the time and place you’ll need your gun?

This is still hooey. Arizona requires no permits for anything, and has no problems at all. And while training is a nice thing to get on your own, requiring it is just a waste of time.

Policemen with lots of training and many range hours often will still miss the broad side of a barn; whereas a cute little girl with a bow in her hair who has never held a gun before might be able to plant five rounds in a tight shot grouping at dog-tag elevation.

As far as felony convictions go, Arizona has some arcane rules about gun rights restoration for some felons, but it is not impossible. Most ex-cons probably know if they can, and want to, get their gun rights back. And if the police catch them with an illegal gun, they are in deep kimchi.

Your comments are dead on and worth repeating.

The question that needs to be asked of the legislooters in each state, is "Are citizens of Arizona, Vermont, and Alaska more trustworthy than those of  ______ (insert your state here)"

Officials here in New Hampshire can issue lifetime licenses, since the four year term is a minimum, but in practice they never do.

The greening of America with this kind of green would be a beautiful thing!

$125 or $500, there should be no tax on civil rights.

Personally, I see Arizona as the legislative target for other states as far as gun laws go. It is large enough, populous enough, it has a big city and plenty of rural, so it is very comparable to most states.

Yet Arizonans can carry open if the want, concealed if they want, in their car, in most buildings, etc. And if anything, it just encourages people to be more polite.

are you saying you agree with Government requiring citizens to get some king of training?

that's ridiculous imo

Here's my Constitution and we'd be better off if it were like this:

Federal Government should be limited to only international affairs (dealing with mainly stopping foreign large scale threats as in invading foreign armies, immigrants, poisons form abroad))

also no government can never tell us what kind of training we must get or who should or what we can purchase from the free market. that means no gov schools, no permits , no licenses, no obamacare etc. why is a gov idiot so much more capable of permitting me or telling what I have to do to better my life or what I am permitted to do or not. I'll write the local and state limitations but not much more than the fed does.
