Fox's 'The Following' Shows Murderous Cult with Tea Party Flag
Breibart - Big Hollywood ^ | 4-25-2013 | Christian Toto

Posted on 04/26/2013 5:17:49 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

Hollywood and the mainstream media have been portraying the Tea Party movement as racist and violent ever since it rose up during the early months of President Barack Obama's first term.

Never mind that the Occupy Wall Street movement set the standard for ideologically driven violence, and that whenever Tea Partiers gather they typically leave the grounds cleaner than when they arrived.

If you’re still paying for cable, you’re part of the problem.

Now that I think about it, those barracks at The Citadel do look a little like mosques what with the open quadrangles in the middle an all.

People who use the internet are also part of the problem.

I watch the show. There is nothing political about it. Y’all are reading way to much into this. I didn’t even notice the flag when I saw that episode, but the the cult leader is a liberal literature professor if it makes you feel any better.

The FOX broadcast network is just as leftist as the other networks, shows like GLEE and FAMILY GUY are proof of that

I read through the abundance of crap on this thread and have to conclude that the silly season for 2013 is already upon us.

You’re here on the internet talking about it raising its internet prominence. I bet you also buy products that are advertized on television and are part of the problem that way as well.

So far, TF has been entertaining. I just wonder how long they can carry the theme before it becomes too outlandish or ridiculous. Even now, it has become repetitive -- how many times can wifey and/or kid get kidnapped and get away in a season?

Every show has a kidnapped/recovered/bad guy got away - again theme. We stopped watching the show after they arrived at the big mansion. Too ridiculous.

Justified hasn’t been too bad about this sort of thing but pretty much all the characters both good and bad are rednecks.

The show's alright, a little preposterous, but certainly not conservative bashing.

One of the points of the portrayal is that the cult he gathers crosses across all sorts of groups - white, black, hispanic, preppers, cops, professors, students, Feds, housewives, etc. The guys with the Gasden flag were relatively normal compared to the rest.

It really doesn't single out any group, other than maybe Edgar Allan Poe fans, who come out looking way creepy.

They drink alcohol, eat pork and never mention God on the show...it’s like crazy cultists, not crazy Muslims

yup....a little preposterous..but a decent escapist fare.

better than this series would be my favorite, “justified”.
and ‘The Americans’. right up there would be “The Vikings”

also I am waiting for the return of ‘burn notice’ which has started to jump the shark a bit
