Honestly, I wouldn’t mind seeing them limit, if not do away comepletely, with pads and helmets.
You’ll have a lot fewer cheap shots and dangerous hits if you can’t just throw yourself into someone.
This is the last straw for me. First with all the low class inner city scum. Then they wear pink for a month. Now it’s worried about faggots...I quit.
We’re good at being quarterbacks, linemen, and line backer. There is an occasional decent white wide receiver and safety.

Yes, I’m aware. The big issue back then was the wedge formation and players being trampled.
Not an issue nowadays.
The problem with pads and helmets is that they allow you to hit with impunity — that is, you won’t feel the hit you’re laying on some wide receiver.
Part of the problem is kids don’t know how to properly tackle. Instead of wrapping someone up and taking him to the ground, they’ll use the pads or helmet to do it.
It increases your chances of getting on the highlight reel, sure, get on ESPN’s JACKED UP or whatever.
But it also increases the chance that (1) you’ll blow your assignment, (2) not end the play, and (3) screw up and hurt someone, possibly yourself.
Look at rugby or Aussie rules. They don’t have the huge ESPN-friendly hits, but they also don’t have people getting paralyzed on the field.
