It’s a different world, not necessarily a slower pace, but everything is so new here. I go back to CT, and nothing has changed.

My husband and I were recently on a long driving trip (CT to Florida and back again), and took a look at the Bluffton and Beaufort, SC areas. Also saw a bit of Charlotte on the way down.

There's a reason things are so new there... those areas are BOOMING, as opposed to CT, NY, MA, and other deep blue northeastern states, where people - and businesses - are leaving in droves. Saw lots of U-Haul trucks with NY plates heading South on our way down (God help y'all).

I heard NC is looking at abolishing its state income tax... that'll make NC a lot more attractive to us. And kudos to the people of NC for voting NO on gay marriage. That made me take a second look at NC, when we assumed it was going to the dark blue side a few years ago...

Kudos and a shout out to Matt Drudge. He currently has, as his main headline (at least on mobile version) Dear Leader’s Planned Parenthood’s screed. And atop the link, Drudge has up a three or four month in uetero photo of a pre born BABY. Well done, Matt, well done!

Even at the post women Huskies championship parade, when I saw the car that had the UConn President was riding on, one of the women fans asked why the change of logos. Interesting.

Interesting. I wonder if they "focus-grouped" the decision to change the logo, or at least asked the opinions of students and UConn Husky fans? (Probably not on the latter)

On the concussion issue (the portion of the article Rush is reading now).

My youngest son (he was 15 last fall) is a HS soccer goalie. He rec’d a “moderate” concussion (hitting the back of his head on the turf). He wa knocked out very briefly. We transported him ourselves to ER (he was walking and conscious, but not “right” —sorta what they used to call having your bell rung). At the ER a CT was done (no swelling, no fracture,) but we were referred to a concussion care program run by the University of Pittsburgh. He had physical, balance, vision and memory therapy as well as being accepted into a research program for monitoring. Really world class care by Mds, PhDs, weekly EEGs (alot of this funded by NFL). Guess what the most dangerous youth sports are for concussions? Soccer and then cheerleading/gymnastics. Skiing, ice skating. Football is also on the list—but we were told that ALL sports (even non contact one) generate concussions. The only option for NO concussion is NO sports/activity.

The diagnosis treatment is just much better now!
