MOSCOW — Russian police and security agents have detained 140 people at a mosque in Moscow on suspicion of involvement with Islamic extremism.

A statement from the Federal Security Agency reported by Russian news agencies said among those detained in the Friday action were 30 citizens of unspecified foreign countries.

The detentions come a week after the two suspects in the fatal Boston Marathon bombing were identified as originating from the Russian region of Chechnya and sympathizing with Islamic extremists.

Article does not state whether the mosque itself was searched. I’m wondering if the Russians perform this law enforcement procedure, particularly in arresting 140 suspected terrorists within that building.

Spetsnaz entered a mosque and made arrests?

Sheesh these guys are not like us but they are serious in their attempt in protecting Russian citizens.

It’s pretty sad when the Commie leader of Russia is to the right of the US president.

wonder if any might be from Western countries
That was probably one of the criteria, Putin is engaged in the usual propaganda war against the US.

That is a Russian idea on how to deal with illegal aliens. Overstayed their visas and undocumented folks simply sorted (roughly) by nations of origin, tightly packed into a cargo planes and sent away. It is not good to be British or French muzzie captured in Moscow mosque. It is not economic and a lot of paperwork to confirm identity and get clearance from Western embassies to make conventional deportation. With their passports getting 'lost', their beards and brown faces they are getting mixed with other undocumented folks heading for Yemen, Somalia or any other Crapistan which has advanced slave trade industry and aren't that anal on paperwork.
