How did Abdulrahman Al-harbi burn his hands?
wondering the same thing, and it was said a couple of times that he was osama bin laden’s son?!?!
Playing with matches.
Penelopesire and I had an OT conversation on another thread. She was thinking out loud about that very thing, asking: "I wonder if a triggering mechanism could have burned his hands?? "
I replied, "I have not a clue, but I do not recall any of the other wounded people having what these detectives identified as "burns.""
Our exchange caused me to search for more information about the BURNS because, after April 16th, later reports only refer to shrapnel wounds in the leg.
Below is the info I found. Posting it here because it may be of more value here since it really was OT on the other thread.
Reports from CBS reporter John Miller
"As everybody's kind of standing in shock, three Boston PD detectives see this guy moving quickly out of the crowd...
They think he may be injured, but it turns out that most of that [blood] is from other people. But he does have burns on his hands," said Miller."
[April 16, 2013] Sources: Injured Saudi man not a suspect in Boston attacks
" He was being questioned by the FBI in a Boston hospital, where he was being treated for burns to his hands....
The man, who officials are not calling a suspect or a person of interest at this stage, was seen running from the scene of one of the explosions and was tackled by a member of the public and turned over to police."
[April 16, 2013] Boston Marathon bombs: The world reacts
However, we can't consider this as a confirmation because article is sourcing the same reporter without directly quoting him.
Hmmm....Found more detail from John Miller (according to Hot Air):
"But the pattern of his burns mainly on his hands, Miller says has investigators wondering what he was doing at the time of the blast."
CBS: FBI, BPD very interested in Saudi national
Two other sources!
Salon transcript from a C-SPAN interview with Steve Emerson:
EMERSON: I have been given privy to certain classified information.....the burns on his skin match the explosive residue of the bomb that exploded.
Salon goes on to trash Emerson, saying he had to retract, but if you watch the video, Emerson's only "retraction" is to say the Saudi has been cleared.
"Saudi official at the countrys embassy in Washington. The embassy official... spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the preliminary nature of the information.
He declined to identify the young man, but said he sustained serious burn injuries."
Source [not dated but obviously early]
FYI: I'm using "saudinationalburns" to keyword this info.
Also of possible interest from the Debka article in this thread:
On April 17, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal...handed a high-value dossier from confidential files in Riyadh containing data on clandestine Saudi terrorist cells in the Boston area.
Look at his hands. They aren't burned. He was "safe" in the hospital receiving visitors such as some diplomat and Moo.
