U.S. President Barack Obama repeated on Friday his past assertions that the use of chemical weapons in Syria would cross a line and produce an American response.
At the same time, he indicated that he was not yet 100% certain that the findings by U.S. intelligence agencies are an indication that such weapons had indeed been used.
Knowing that theres chemical weapons in Syria doesnt tell us when they were used or how they were used, Obama told reporters before a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan which focused on Syria.
We ourselves will be putting a lot of resources on this.
Asked about a timeline, Obama added, This is going to be a long-term proposition, not something we could solve easily one night.
To use weapons of mass destruction on civilian populations crosses another line in terms of international norms and laws, he said. Thats going to be a game changer.
For the Syrian government to use chemical weapons on its people will change my calculus, he added. This is not an on and off switch. Its an ongoing challenge that all of us have to work with.

Muzzies killing muzzies. I’m confused as to why I should care?
Strong letter follows...
“Stop! or I’ll yell Stop! again!”
They used chemical weapons. That’s a red line. I will do...something...sometime or other...probably involving calculus or something.
That’s why you should care. This is supposed to be the leader of the free world.
Not our problem.
It would be the Letter A, but Cookie Monster ate the letter of the day again. So we’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
American response? why not a UN response? Obama ran railing against cowboy go-it-alone foreign policy.
A line in the sand and the wind is blowing.
The line will soon be as if it never existed.
Agreed. So he should shut up. But he won’t. And he won’t put up either, which means he should have shut up.
Yes. Let Bonkey Moon make the empty threats for a change.
pathetic and embarrassing.
+-but he’s installed his muslimbrotherood terrorista pals and their kindred in several countries already... no doubt he is doing all he can... off the radar... to provide Syria with the same “treat”...
But this time he’ll say it in a really stern voice. Stop. Like that.
Why anybody would believe anything this man-child says is beyond my comprehension.
All flap... no throttle...
He and his Buddy, Juan McCain want to get in on this so bad they can taste it.
If the Rebels win the Christians there are dead ducks. That’s why they want in.
If that happens, Obama will respond by giving them a stern talking to.
If that doesn't work, he may even call them names, but that is a worst case scenario and is unlikely to occur.
You shouldn’t care at all. The only good Muslim is a room temperature Muslim.
Never quite understood why we’re supposed to be massively more outraged by people killing others with chemicals as opposed to high-speed lead or shrapnel fragments. Or blunt objects or edged weapons, for that matter.
They’re every bit as dead regardless of method.
We ought to be more outraged depending on whether the victims deserved to be killed, not by the methods used.
If a MOAB isn’t a “weapon of mass destruction,” I’m not sure what would be.
The only action you’re gonna get out of Obozo is another round of golf while they reload his teleprompter so he can run his mouth some more.
All the peanut-brain did was sputter into oblivion.
Somebody wants the U.S. in Syria badly, Zippy has to invent his “Gulf of Tonkin” incident to get us involved.
No wonder Iran is laughing at him while they continue to build the A-bomb! N Korea laughed at Obama when he told them to stop building the A-bomb, then proceeded to fire off several ballistic missiles!
What a joke of the first order!
Crying “wolf?” Pathetic community organizer.
Only this time he said, “Please don’t use them again”....
