Two cars, not one, appear to be at the center of the investigation into how the two brothers allegedly behind the Boston Marathon bombings carried out the fatal shooting of a police officer and the wounding of another during their final night rampage.

After the Cambridge shooting, the suspects carjacked a Mercedes 350 SUV at gunpoint, according to a federal affidavit. Both suspects rode in the SUV to Watertown, the affidavit says.
However, photographs obtained by NBC News and eyewitness accounts given to NBC News producers indicate that both a green Honda and black Mercedes SUV were parked at the scene of the Watertown shooting. Several people who were near the scene that night said the Honda was positioned behind the Mercedes.

The better question is where were the vehicles finally found abandoned as it relates to the location of the shootout.
The one thing I want to know, exactly, is what time was the Mercedes carjacked, at what time did they receive the call from the owner (lessee), when did they get all the facts about the vehicle and what time did the “big” shootout occur?
The reason I ask is obviously the FBI was in charge of the show and why did they not know immediately the Mercedes had their version of On-Star on board, including his iPhone. Instead of confronting them in a residential neighborhood, just track them out of town and confront them in a more remote area. That would have avoided the whole lockdown.
I wonder now if everyone at the FBI carries a single bullet in their pocket? I say that to the administrators although I am sure they have infiltrated the ranks of the street agents as well.
IIRC, the wife’s car was in the shop for repairs and he went and picked it up before the repairs were done. Forgot which car it was.
You gotta give the crack reporters at NBC a little more credit. They just figured out that the brothers drove TWO cars to the shoot out. At least they finally figured it out. Maybe they'll soon realize that these guys might be terrorists.
According to ‘top secret’, very smart police sources, the 3rd suspect drove a white Bronco and was being called ‘juice’ or ‘OJ’.....developing.
That was supposedly a beat up ‘67 Mercedes wagon.
Just what we need...a white bronco chase.

Apparently bomber#2 drove behind the hi jacked car. Bomber#1 was in the SUV. Then B#2’s car was running out of gas so they transferred their bomb paraphenalia and B#2 into the SUV. Later, the SUV was running out of gas...

That is what I remembered reading too! Now this article says both cars were found at scene of the shoot out in a watertowne neighborhood.
Who drove the Honda to the shoot out scene? It was supposedly left near the Watertowne armory I thought. ????
I have always thought that they were trying to make their way to a safe house. More cell members.
Thankfully these guys were as stupid as they were violent. Had they possessed even a shred of planning ability, they would've been across the Canadian border within 12 hours. It really raises questions about who built the bombs.

I thought I remembered seeing an overhead shot that showed both cars in the street as they exchanged gunfire. Too many cooks stirring the soup and to many more interested in pulling a veil over it than letting the pure truth out.
The coexist sticker was on the Chinese dudes SUV. That was why poked fun at the brother running over his big brother, in the carjacked car.

I have to wonder why the “revelation” to NBC that the White Cap drove the green Honda to the scene. I’m allowing this “reporting” being permitted due to “real” editors/producers being too hung over from last night’s NerdProm to be at work...and some actual journalism happening in the news room.
Tomorrow the higher ups will be sober and the BB meme will be back to “what did America do to these hapless young men?”
