State Dept: WH Not Sure Syria Used Chemical Weapons (Beyond Pathetic!)
Breibart - Big Peace ^ | 4-27-2013 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 04/28/2013 8:05:22 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

After days of tough talk from the White House regarding Syria's use of chemical weapons, State Department spokesman Patrick Ventrell emerged on April 26 to say no action will be taken against the country based on "intelligence assessments" until the administration can "corroborate the facts."

He said, despite reports announcing intelligence assessments that show chemical weapons have been used--even the assessments released by the State Department on April 25--there is not enough evidence to act.

A reporter ... asked Ventrell: "... why make it public?"

Ventrell said it was, "an administrative decision to respond in a public fashion." He then reminded the questioner that, "intelligence assessments when it comes to WMD" have been questionable in the past.

And Ventrell wouldn't even confirm that the U.S. will act against Syria .......

Perhaps this is going against the grain, but I see this as a plus. IMHO, we should stay out and let the moslem bastards kill each other at will. The more the better.

There is no "good" side in Syria. I don't want to get involved either. It's good that Obama looks foolish walking back his "red line" comments, but I hope he does nothing. No good is going to come out of US intervention in Syria.

OK, obviously since we cannot trust the intelligence services to get it right, I think the only way to get this done is for the CIC himself to go there on a fact finding study. Surly he is loved enough in the mid eastern community to be safe. Put some long robes on him and a headress on top of a camel and send him off from Lebonon.

Absolutely correct. He should have never mouthed off about his "Red Line" unless he was prepared to back it up. Will North Korea take him seriously if he draws a "Red Line" with them? Will Iran? Will China?

I agree we should’ve never become involved. The main issue is the total loss of any credibility because we don’t mean what we say.

It is a game changer all right. Now Islam and Iran in particular, along with North Korea know that when it comes to WMD, Barry is all talk and no walk.

Millions will die due to our populist Presidents lack of male parts.

Assad has nothing to worry about from Lil Barry Sweetpants - unless of course he forbids free condoms, same sex marriage, 24 week baby murder, fisting, queercentric government employment policy - then Mr. Harrison J. Bounel will be on them like white on rice

The only thing the coward in the WH is sure of is the fact that he wants this nation destroyed. Nixon did far less and he was impeached.

Concur about that coward in the White House wanting to destroy America.

Differ about Nixon. He did far less and was hounded from office. Would likely have been impeached because key Republican Representatives abandoned him. But the only two Presidents to have been impeached are Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, both of whom were acquitted.

As far as I am concerned, Clinton's acquittal was a betrayal of the Constitution. And Obama should long since have been impeached and removed.

I’m with the others. STAY OUT OF SYRIA. We have NOTHING TO GAIN. I’m sorry if nasty weapons are used on the rebels, but they chose to fight a ruthless guy and they knew what could happen to them.

We’ve got North Korea to worry about and they very well may have nukes taking out our cities by the end of the year. I just don’t see Syria as being that big of a threat to us.

Does anyone really believe the White Hut clown was going to "start a war"? He will go after Syria just like he has "put his foot down" on NK and Iran.

He purposely wants America weak to atone for it's past sins of being a cowboy, and particularly in the past decade. He rode into town talking this trash talk and now he is delivering.

It really is none of our business.

The so-called “rebels” are Salafist terror groups.

If Assad sprays a little pest control, he is really doing us a favor.

So true. My curiosity is in regards to all the weapons we’ve given the ‘rebels’ - maybe barry doesn’t want to see his investment go to waste.

But I agree, no way is he going to continue the history of America being strong, his satanic need to cripple us is out in the open.

There is good reason to be skeptical: whether the Syrian government or whether the rebels have used chemical weapons is the real issue. It would not be good at all for the U.S. if it is discovered later that the U.S. supported rebels captured stores of chemical weapons, then used them and attempted to blame their use on the Assad government.

Biological and chemical weapons are indiscriminate by their nature. The potential for killing non combatants is very high with their use.

What would you propose for us to do about Syria? Go in, guns blazing, only to settle in for a decade-long quagmire? It’s a muslim country all the “ends” are bad ones... I just don’t want this country having to deal (and find itself handing over hundred$ of million$ to yet another cabal of Christian- and Jew-hating animals.

Be wary about this shucking and jiving — they’ll let McCain and Graham “drag” them into this “kicking and screaming.” They’ve been propping up these “rebels” all along, it will just be another MB regime installed when the dust clears.
