Last I heard it wasn’t conservatives who calmly declared the Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments “inoperative”. I don’t recall many right-wingers insisting that the First Amendment be “improved” by Hate Speech laws. Bill, look: it’s control versus freedom, and your side has always been for control. On many a thread I have ran across several that seem to be suffering ‘Harry Reid’ Syndrome talking about ‘Imagined Tyranny’ and clear choosing security over their Freedoms.
