State Dept. Blocks Lawyers from Representing Benghazi Whistleblowers
WMAL ^ | Monday, April 29, 2013

Posted on 04/29/2013 6:04:36 AM PDT by kristinn

The State Department is blocking local lawyer Victoria Toensing from representing whistleblowers on the 2012 Benghazi attacks, according to her legal partner and husband Joe DiGenova. Teonsing wants to represent such whistleblowers at the upcoming Congressional hearings about the Benghazi case.

"The Department of State is refusing to grant clearances to Victoria and other people who want to represent the whistleblowers in an attempt to prevent the testimony," DiGenova said.

Well of course. The Feds don’t want any more witnesses to have insider knowledge of the betrayal of the American people or it’s state secrets.

Aren’t they allowed to hire counsel as in everyone’s right to representation

Denying them their right to representation on a clearance technicality. Very clever. Of course it will take at least ten years for this to wind it’s way up to SCOTUS for a decision.

Actually, it doesn't take that long in disputes between branches of the federal government. The question is does the House have the guts to assert its prerogatives?

And some one thought that a state law keeping background

The US State Department is traitorous and it is past time to tell one secret. An additional duty I had was base COMSEC Officer (communication security). About 1978, I got a Top Secret message from DoD that said the State Department had given permission to Seafloat (USSR shipping) to unload ships on one coast and to drive unescorted to the other coast. This was never coordinated with DoD. The trucks are sealed and are to be treated as diplomatic pouches. They are required to stay on interstate highways. When DoD discovered this, we followed some of the trucks and they were leaving main roads to park outside military bases. DoD does not have the resources to follow every truck. Be alert for suspicious vehicles and be certain all classified processed electronically on your base satisfies COMSEC requirements. I advised all base authorities and never got an update from DoD or heard anything in the MSM. Those communist trucks could have prepositioned all types of weapons or terrorist across our country.

"Who also know plenty of conservative hosts that will gladly give them facetime on just about anywhere they want to go."

They don't care. They think they have the bit in the teeth and can do anything they want. So far, the courts and the House have proven them correct. If there is no effective opposition, each offence will generate the next until the US is truly transformed and Lord Obama and his agents can lock down a major city, conduct searches at gun point in private homes without a warrant and do anything they want...

Well there are a couple of old American sayings that should give the DHS pause to think about their billions of rounds of pistol ammo.

First the difference between a sniper and a deer hunter is what they are looking at through the scope.

And Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.

I remember the Watergate hearings and the media at that time. If Nixon’s people put a paper clip on the right side of a bunch of papers instead of the left side, well that was front page news. Now, because the media thinks governance is the same as a crosstown high school football game, we hear nothing from them. Our media is less than a joke.

From the WMAL interview with Joe DiGenova (husband of Toensing):

On Friday April 26, Issa sent a letter to the SoS Kerry "demanding" that the attorneys representing the whistleblowers be cleared (be given clearances) so they can talk to their clients about classified information.

Right now, the State Dept is refusing to give security clearances to people like Victoria...."They want to protect Hillary and Obama."

According to DiGenova, Toensing currently holds a Top Secret clearance, obtained within the last year.

Interviewer refers to WaPo op-ed [this may be the one he is referring to] defending Hillary. DeGenova says that article is "maliciously false or it is completely uninformed."

"That performance by her in front of both committees in the House and Senate was her grand jury appearance during White Water all over again." LOL!
*******************

Mesta: Has Issa set a date for the hearing yet?

Sounds to me like the troika (Obama, Holder, Kerry) intend to give clearances at the very last minute so attorneys are as ill-prepared as possible for the hearing; or else, they intend to delay the hearing until they get all of their lying ducks in a row--- or both.

Otherwise, they fund it. They funded 0bamaCare this year. They can’t shift their lazy arses to oppose squat.
