I know. I was a Farmer & Horticulturist for 25yrs, and believe me, all of us are surrounded by pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, almost everywhere we go, and in most everything we eat and drink. It’s just a fact of life.
I didn’t use it when I could avoid it, because I knew of the long-term consequences for all involved in the diverse chain of life.

When they spray overnight twice a year for mosquitoes in Florida, there are birds that show up dead under trees. There were a few stray cats that lived in our community and laid under the hedges where the landscapers fertilized and spread weedkiller often. All 3 cats developed tumors and had to be put down. I avoid pesticides too.

There were a couple of instances here in PA, where paper mills sprayed carcinogenic dioxin/furan - byproducts of chlorine-bleaching of pulp - on to mulches, and sold the mulch to an unknowing prblic. Children, pets and adults developed tumors and died.
I exposed it in 1994-95, with documents from States of MD & PA personnel/studies/medical records, but media and state AGs ignored it, since paper mills were very large advertisers and political contributors. I got death threats, began carrying CCW everyday, but the case went down a rabbit hole.
The mulch companies were closed, but liability was zeroed-out for huge paper mills.
