... In Monday's story, Collins writes that the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15 "reinforced the notion that I shouldn't wait for the circumstances of my coming out to be perfect. Things can change in an instant, so why not live truthfully?"

And now, Collins and Kennedy say, they will be in Boston on June 8, marching together at the city's 2013 gay pride parade

It certainly is, and as much as I push my imagination, I don't see how Sodom and Gomorrah could have been much worse.

This morning my local ABC affiliate described it as a "historic" moment in sports. Think about that. A man admits he has a fixation on other males' filthy anal areas, and it's "historic."

I think it's amazing that the only reason anyone on earth has ever heard of Jason Collins is that he happened to "Hey! Look at me! I'm gay!" at the same time his name appeared on an NBA roster.

Seriously...many of us have never heard of the guy until now, and the only reason we did so now is not because he's a great professional hoops player, but rather because he was able to tell the world he was supposedly gay while his name was still on some NBA roster somewhere.

Seems like a pretty meager accomplishment to me...but then again, it's probably the highest star this poor fellow will ever be able to reach.

Collins’s girlfriend of three years says she had no idea he was gay.

Personally, I think this is a fading mediocrity looking for one more big score who thinks he can get it by proclaiming himself to be “gay” (since in PC World, gays are the cool people, after all) and if it doesn’t work, he can sue someone and make almost as much as he’d make on a new contract.
