I remember how often Rush pointed out the flaws in McCain, played parody ads on him, practically depicted him as an escapee from a mental institution as well as a RINO.

Then, we ended up with him as the nominee in 2008 (groan!) and Rush was left having to do an (almost) 180 to defend him.

Perhaps you are right. Maybe his influence has waned.
